Overview
The Fifteen at 564-566 Clarkston Road in Glasgow is your go-to Chinese takeaway that's been keeping the Southside properly fed for years. With a solid 4-star rating from 68 reviews, they've clearly figured out the perfect formula: Cantonese and Peking delicacies that make your Friday night infinitely better. Also, they recently moved to their current location because apparently even successful Chinese takeaways need an upgrade now and then. Specialising in both Cantonese and Peking cuisine, The Fifteen offers the perfect balance between old favourites (looking at you, Lemon Chicken) and authentic dishes that'll make you feel like you've traveled to China without leaving your sofa. We're talking about Szechuan Pork that packs the right amount of heat, plus an extensive menu that probably has something for everyone – yes, even your mate who "doesn't really like Chinese food" (we all know that one person). Operating seven days a week because life doesn't take weekends off, they're open Sunday-Thursday from 4:30pm to 11pm, and Friday-Saturday until 11:30pm (because weekends call for slightly extended takeaway hours). You can order online for collection or get it delivered straight to your door throughout Glasgow and surrounding areas – because nothing says "I've got my life together" like Chinese food arriving at your house. Call 0141 637 3336 if you've got special dietary requirements or just want to chat with someone about your food choices (no judgement here). They're ready when you are, basically saying "we've got this" when you're saying "I can't be bothered to cook tonight."
What People Are Saying
The Fifteen offers Chinese takeaway, receiving mixed reviews that reflect both strengths when quality standards are met and significant concerns about food quality, preparation, and safety. The restaurant has been described as fantastic and featuring great food when operating well, though quality consistency and safety issues have been raised by some reviewers.
The food at The Fifteen receives positive feedback when quality standards are met, with dishes described as fantastic, great, and out of this world. The sweet n sour chicken Cantonese style is described as out of this world and the best tried, and the delivery is described as always quick so the food is still nice and hot. The free prawn crackers receive positive feedback, described as good. The food quality is such that one reviewer notes it's one place you don't want to miss and features a fantastic ordering to eating experience.
However, there have been significant quality and safety concerns reported. One reviewer found a piece of plastic/glass in their chow mein (looked like a broken ornament due to the pattern), which is a serious safety issue. When they called to advise the restaurant, they seemed uninterested and only offered 10% off next order, suggesting inadequate response to safety concerns. Food quality issues have been reported, with one reviewer describing the experience as absolutely horrible, noting the beef was dry and chewy, the duck was dry and chewy, and the fried squid and chicken had a heart attack amount of salt. The satay chicken has been described as just mixed in a mild satay sauce for about 5 minutes and didn't taste of much. Preparation concerns have been raised, with butterfly prawns described as cooked in breadcrumbs and slightly overdone (expected a nice light crispy batter), lemon chicken described as fine but the lemon sauce was a little bit sharp, and egg fried rice described as having very little discernible egg in it.
Delivery service receives positive feedback when operating well, described as always quick so the food is still nice and hot, contributing to positive experiences.
For visitors to Glasgow, The Fifteen offers Chinese takeaway that can be fantastic and feature great food when quality standards are met. The restaurant's ability to deliver quick service and hot food has earned it positive recommendations from some reviewers. However, there have been significant concerns raised about food quality consistency, preparation standards, and safety (including foreign objects in food). The combination of generally good food when quality is consistent, but significant quality and safety concerns, makes it a mixed experience, and the restaurant would benefit from addressing food quality control, ensuring proper preparation standards, and implementing better safety protocols to ensure all guests have safe and positive experiences.

Read on Google MapsFirst time I’ve had a delivery from this restaurant. Butterfly prawns were cooked in breadcrumbs, which were slightly overdone. They were ok but I’d really been expecting a nice light crispy batter, which would have been so much better. The lemon chicken was fine but the lemon sauce with it was a little bit sharp for my taste. The egg fried rice had very little discernible egg in it. Free prawn crackers were good. On balance I’ll try another restaurant next time.
