What People Are Saying

Cafe India has established itself as one of Glasgow's most celebrated Indian takeaways, consistently earning exceptional praise for its exceptional food, friendly service, and great value. The restaurant has been described as one of the best takeaways you'll find, beats all other takeaways in the Southside by a mile easily, and can't fault the place, with reviewers consistently awarding it high ratings and expressing their eagerness to return regularly.

The food at Cafe India receives outstanding reviews, with dishes consistently described as exceptional, amazing, good, lovely, and featuring fresh ingredients and freshly made orders. The restaurant offers a good menu with some good rich sauces, and specific dishes receive particular acclaim. The zentara and kalli March dishes are described as great, the chicken tikka charcoal grill is described as great (with curry sauce that is lighter and goes well with naan and chicken), and the chicken vindaloo is described as lovely and a favourite that has never disappointed. The pakora receives praise for generous portions, and the pakora sauce is described as a winner with a nice kick to it. If you order a main dish you also get a small salad. The food quality is such that reviewers note they have been coming regularly for a year and never had an issue with food, and the food is always fresh ingredients and freshly made orders. The restaurant also offers pizza, kebabs, chips, and chef selection meals, providing variety.

Service at Cafe India is consistently praised as efficient, friendly, completely on point, and featuring staff who seem to love what they do. Everyone that works there is described as friendly and chatty, and reviewers note that when the food is made with passion the customer will always be happy. Individual staff members like Frankie and the lads receive specific commendations for making the experience 10/10 every time, and Frank receives praise for never disappointing. The service contributes significantly to positive experiences, and reviewers note they can't fault the place.

The restaurant offers reliable delivery when pre-ordering over the phone, with reviewers noting that regardless of how busy they are, you will get a "be ready in 20 minutes" and they will deliver in 20 minutes as well, demonstrating commitment to delivery times. However, there has been one instance where delivery took two hours when the app said 30-40 minutes, requiring multiple phone calls to check, and the food eventually arrived but wasn't worth the wait, with no refund for wait time. This suggests that while phone orders may be more reliable, app-based orders may have timing issues.

The restaurant accepts Just Eat orders, and there is a small bench to sit on and telly while you wait, adding to convenience and comfort.

Value is consistently praised, with reviewers describing prices as great and great value, creating excellent value for the quality offered.

For visitors to Glasgow, Cafe India has become a destination that many feel is essential to experience, with reviewers describing it as one of the best takeaways and expressing their intention to regularly continue. The restaurant's ability to deliver exceptional food, friendly service, great value, and fresh ingredients has earned it enthusiastic recommendations. Whether you're seeking exceptional Indian food, great value, friendly service, or simply one of the best takeaways, Cafe India consistently delivers experiences that reviewers describe as exceptional, amazing, and can't fault the place. The combination of quality food, friendly service, great value, and fresh ingredients makes it a standout and highly recommended establishment, though attention to app-based delivery times would help ensure all guests have positive experiences.
