Overview

This Papercup listing is the brand's Eastvale Place roastery cafe, tucked into Arch 17 by the Clydeside cycle path opposite SWG3 in Yorkhill / Kelvinhaugh. It is weekday-only (10am-3pm) and more about tasting the house roast than a full brunch room. Glasgow World has called out Mondays and Wednesdays as roast days when you can smell the beans while trains rumble overhead. Papercup started as a Great Western Road speciality coffee and brunch cafe around 2012-13 and now roasts for its own shops plus wholesale. Head of coffee David Deans has been the public face in local interviews. Beans sell online and in cafe; home espresso training is also on the site. Sister cafes sit on Great Western Road (daily), in Motherwell, and on Cathkin Drive in Clarkston. Exhibition Centre station and the riverside walk make this arch an easy stop if you are already near SWG3.

Not to be confused with it's sublime brother down the road, this little nook is home to one of the great personal characteristics of success. The barista/roaster here simply cannot find no satisfaction. His condition works to our benefit with obsession yielding some great coffee. Pretty much zilch to eat...but nearby read my review of one of the hipster Cafe classic spots on this planet.

Great little coffee spot in Glasgow. Quality of the coffee is incredible and tastes great. The baked goods are also very tasty. Tucked away but worth a visit. I will be coming back next time I’m in Glasgow.

Read some good reviews so dropped in for a coffee and a tea. The guy serving asked if we wanted to sit in or takeaway then when I told him we wanted to sit in he let us know they have no seating and we could not, in fact, sit in. He then made a tea without milk. The coffee was very small and the taste wasn’t good enough to make me ever want to return. Very disappointing.
