Visit websiteDropshot was a brunch café inside Newlands Lawn Tennis Club on Mochrum Road in Newlands (south Glasgow). It was known for weekend brunch — creative hot rolls and specials such as tacos, nasi goreng, and filled croissants — rather than as a cocktail bar, despite some directory tags. Public trading ended on 15 March 2026. Owner Ruth cited rising costs, VAT/tax pressure, and wanting more family time. Glasgow Times and The Scotsman covered the closure; regulars often called it among the best brunch spots in the city. After that date the club introduced NLTC Cafe for members and social members only (guests welcome with members). The Dropshot Instagram stays active for pop-ups and supper clubs. The club is at 18 Mochrum Road, G43 2QE, with on-site parking. Club copy puts Langside station about five minutes away and Muirend or Cathcart about ten minutes’ walk.
I had a great experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, the prices were fair. The service was really good, they were all really efficient and kind. The atmosphere felt like a mixture of home and an airport lounge, in a good way.

Did my usual annoying customer behaviour and asked for something off menu but the staff were more than catering and I really enjoyed! Will be back again soon, love that I can view menu updates easily on Insta too💞
Read on Google MapsHonestly can’t say enough positive things about DropShot. The menu was outstanding (I could have ordered literally everything) and the service was lovely. I had the Turkish Egg which were delicious and their coffee was fab. Give this place a try as it’s worth every penny!
Read on Google MapsClass little place nestled inside Newlands Lawn Tennis club. Persevere when trying to find it, you do need to head right into the club (some nice blokes kitted up for tennis kindly directed us). The food is really really good. Innovative brunch items that don’t break the bank. I had the ‘BLTH’ (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato & Halloumi) croissant which was delicious and generous. Go hungry.
