From ordering via just eat to delivery, we waited two hours for food to arrive. We received a notification 45 minutes after ordering to say food was on the way. This restaurant is less than 15 minutes away. We then received another notification to say the food had been delivered 40 minutes after that. It hadn't, so we called the restaurant who told us it would arrive soon. The order arrived 20 minutes after this, all understandably cold, having been driven around for an hour. If the food had been hot or even warm, some of it would have been great. - the jack Daniels beef has great flavour but as it was thin shredded and deep fried it was incredibly chewy and inedible. The beef curry and rice roll has good flavour but again was cold. We ordered two different flavours (chicken satay and char sui pork) of steamed buns at £6.90 each. Naively we thought we'd either get a large steamed bun or a couple of small steamed buns for this price however we received one small steamed bun per portion that were cold, both of the same indeterminate flavour and no one could convince me they weren't the frozen microwave itsu buns you can buy 6 for £5 from Asda. We also ordered a Chinese chicken satay pizza. We did not expect to receive a cheap store bought pizza, battered and deep fried and then have some chicken satay placed on top. If you're selling a pizza crunch with satay on the top that is fine but you should advertise it this way, and not as a chicken satay pizza. We were seriously misled and disappointed. Would also not recommend the salt and chilli chicken ball and chips spice bag. Only three chicken balls in it and no salt and chilli flavour to any of it. A big order as I had people over but it was overall very disappointing. Big shame as the menu had so much potential.

There must have been a recent change of ownership. This place used to be called Eastern Legend so been order for many decades and whenever it became Cathay Cuisine it actually got better. However recently the customer service is a disgrace. The guy on the phone is rude and good luck getting him to understand if you are from Glasgow. Like trying to draw blood from a stone. The food came but the salt and chilli chips went in the bin having been tasted by 3 people and all agreed it was covered in black pepper or worse. Avoid as of November 2024 and that's coming from someone who has ordered from here for over 20 years going back to Eastern Legend. Disgusting and will never order again from here.

Delivery was an hour late after 2 calls to the restaurant each time being promised it was on it’s way. When did you stop adding gravy to the chicken fried rice? It was so dry it was inedible and tasteless. Other dish ordered was awful as well, I used to love this place, never ordering again.

Food is ok but order home delivery at your peril. It took 1 hour 20 mins to deliver the food had cooled. It needed microwaved. Chips not great because of this. Poor show

Updated April '24. This was our favourite Chinese takeaway for years, had a 5 star rating on here to back that up, but not any more. First time ordering this year and the food was terrible. Delivery took well over an hour, food was stone cold on arrival. Salt & chilli chicken was fatty, stringy and the supposed lightly crisped batter was thick and soggy. Spring rolls were swimming in cold, congealing oil, chips were cold and spoiled, rice was stale and tasteless. Chicken & char siu pork dish was drier than a sandal, and less tasty. They have either changed ownership or replaced all of their kitchen staff. The (lack of) quality of ingredients was clearly a big factor in just how poor this was.The poor quality of food was simply unrecognisable when compared to last year. Prices have gone way up, quality has gone way down. Go elsewhere, not worth anyone paying for this rubbish!
