Chilos Burgers - Giffnock

Tried Chilo's for the first time today. Mexican chicken burger meal. The service was friendly and efficient and I have to give them extra kudos for allowing a member of the public who came in and asked to use their toilet - we need more of this kind of public friendly service and it sealed the 5 star rating! The chicken burger was fresh and tasty with nice flavours, succulent white chicken and a light and crisp batter. Generous sized portion of fries that were also hot and crisp. The interior is a bit basic and plasticy- very much a case of eat up and head off. Enjoyed the food and good service and will be back to try different items.

Update 18/10/2026: Returned back after the last incident and reminded the lady at the counter about the burnt buns and wrong salt. This time they got everything correct, and I trust the owner has put in processes to ensure things are checked first before being sent to the customer. The owner had offered me two free meals however I did not remind them at the counter so paid in full - the lady at the counter knew what had happened with my burned buns and the wrong salt on my chips from before. This time the food is delicious and have to say it was right there how it's meant to be. Update 13/09/2026: I have left my initial review intact for reference. First of all a correction to my initial review where I stated a dip was missed. This is incorrect as next day I found the dip lying on the floor in my car. The rest of the review still holds. The owner replied back to me separately acknowledging what had happened and has assured me that he will ensure such mishaps are avoided and has offered a replacement meal. Since I don't get takeaway from one place frequently it will only be perhaps after a month or so that I return. Bumped up the review from 2 to 3 stars accordingly and will reevaluate when I pay them a visit next time. Initial Review: Have been going to Chilo's quite a few times and more recently the Giffnock branch as its near my home. Today the food have to say missed the mark by a huge margin. First of all both burger buns were borderline burnt (as the photo will show). Then one dip was missing altogether from the order. Finally I ordered the cheese salt and they gave me the one that I hate most - nashville hot salt which in fact is sweet and ruins the chips. Since I came in my office lunch break I did not have time to go back to return and replace so still ate as it wad still edible - but missed the mark by a huge margin on all accounts. Service & quality were both a miss! I have left a 2 star rating solely due to the fact that they have been better before as its not the first time I have been here. Hope the owner reads and acknowledges the error as you can't have such mishaps. Receipt attached!

Had an amazing experience at Chilos thanks to two incredible team members behind the counter. The two guys (shown in the picture)—super friendly and full of energy!) absolutely made my visit. Not only were they genuinely funny and welcoming, but they also went above and beyond to provide extra service without even being asked. They made the whole atmosphere light and fun, cracking jokes while still keeping everything efficient and professional. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and it really makes a difference. It’s rare to come across staff that leave such a positive impression! Massive shoutout to them for making my day—I’ll definitely be back not just for the food, but for the top-tier customer service too. Keep it up, legends!

We visited this fast food diner today. We were the only customers there. We were met by friendly member of staff. The food preparation didn't take long however the burgers were slightly warm so couldn't have been made from scratch when the order was given. My ziggy fries had straight cut fries through them which wasn't a big deal but when you combine your experience then it all adds up. It didn't make the experience to be professional. It's a shame because the food is nice but small things let it down. What was all sad to see was, the owners must have spent money on decorating the place but unfortunately don't make an effort of the upkeep. There was food lying on the floor and bird droppings splattered over the glass windows and roof. Not nice to look at when eating. I sincerely wish them the best and hope they take on customers positivite feedback!
