Overview

Morrisons Cafe on Fenwick Road in Giffnock – the kind of spot where you grab proper comfort food while doing your weekly shop (or just because you fancy it). This isn't your fancy boutique cafe, it's reliable, it's familiar, and it gets the job done properly. Open every single day from 8am until 5pm (that's 7 days a week commitment), they're serving hot food until quarter to five (or half past four on Sundays because Sunday rules are different). But here's the thing – even after the hot food stops, they'll keep serving cakes, sandwiches and drinks right until closing. Because sometimes you need that last cuppa and a slice of cake before you go back to reality. Located at 38 Fenwick Road, this is the kind of cafe that understands the assignment. You can grab a full breakfast, lunch that actually fills you up, or just a decent coffee and a chat. And with free parking for up to 3 hours, you're sorted for both eating and shopping without any panic about the ticket warden. They're offering takeaway too, which means you can grab your hot food to go while you're doing your shop. It's part of a proper supermarket setup with a butcher, fishmonger, bakery, cake shop, salad bar – basically everything you'd want from a supermarket cafe with all the convenience that comes with it. Sometimes you don't need fancy, you just need proper food that hits the spot.

What People Are Saying

Morrisons Cafe is a chain supermarket cafe that has received mixed reviews, with praise for brilliant service and friendly staff when standards are met, but concerns raised about food quality, cleanliness, and consistency. The cafe has been described as featuring brilliant service and great food when operating well, though quality and cleanliness issues have been raised by some reviewers.

The food at Morrisons Cafe receives mixed feedback, with dishes described as great when operating well, and the fish and chips tea receives positive feedback. However, there have been significant quality concerns reported, with food described as very poor, last resort, and featuring items that are either precooked and rubbery or overcooked and inedible. Specific issues include soft boiled eggs wrong, potato scones described as rock hard (obviously sitting under a heat lamp for ages), no Lorne sausages as per the menu but wasn't told when ordering and was subbed with links without telling, asked for a couple of swaps and was told no problem but nothing was swapped, and they used to do the best toast but have recently changed it to horrible over done dry bread. The pot of tea only fills 1.5 cups as the pots are tiny. The food quality concerns are such that reviewers note it really was a last resort and never again, and they used to be their favourite breakfast but now it's very poor.

Service at Morrisons Cafe is consistently praised as brilliant, so lovely, couldn't be any more helpful, lovely attitude to life, very friendly, and nice enough. The staff receive positive feedback, and the service contributes significantly to positive experiences. However, there has been one communication concern, with one reviewer noting their adult deaf daughter spoke to a member of staff, and while the young lady was polite and smiled, she had no idea what the daughter was trying very hard to explain with limited speech, leaving the parent to then explain, taking independence from the daughter.

There have been cleanliness concerns reported, with reviewers describing the place as really dirty, and the little tins holding all the "clean cutlery" looked like they hadn't been washed for weeks, suggesting maintenance and hygiene issues.

Value is consistently praised, with reviewers describing prices as very cheap, creating good value for the quality offered.

For visitors to Glasgow, Morrisons Cafe offers chain supermarket cafe options that can provide brilliant service and great food when quality standards are met. The cafe's ability to deliver brilliant service, friendly staff, and very cheap prices has earned it positive recommendations from some reviewers. However, there have been concerns raised about food quality (including overcooked, inedible, and wrong items), cleanliness (including dirty conditions), and consistency (including quality decline). The combination of generally good service when consistent, but quality and cleanliness concerns, makes it a mixed experience, and the cafe would benefit from addressing food quality, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining consistent standards to ensure all guests have positive experiences.

It really was a last resort for me and my son! Never again! How can you get soft boiled eggs wrong? The breakfast items on the vegetarian breakfast where either precooked and rubbery or overcooked and inedible! Best thing was the Pot of tea cause we made that ourselves x

Used to be my favourite breakfast now very poor. Potato scones were rock hard, obv sitting under a heat lamp for ages. May have just been in on a bad day, prices are very cheap and the the staff are nice enough

Only issue which is as in most places my adult deaf daughter spoke to member of staff in Cafe while the you lady polite and smiled had no idea what my daughter was trying very hard to explain with limited speech what the issue was leaving myself to then explain taking Independance from my daughter' not sure how this could be sorted except a bit more time allowing a deaf person to show issue rather explain it .
