Yummy Chinese Takeaway on Burnfield Road – the kind of place where your Peking and Cantonese cravings get seriously looked after. With a solid 4.2 rating, they're not just another takeaway – they're serving Giffnock with proper dedication to getting it right. Let's talk about the menu because it's properly extensive. From old favourites like Lemon Chicken (everyone knows someone who swears by lemon chicken), to the authentically bold Szechuan Pork that'll wake up your taste buds, they've got something for absolutely everyone. Seriously – they've got sections for Salt & Chilli, Garlic & Chilli, Honey Chilli, Sweet & Sour (obviously), Kung Po, Mongolian, Teriyaki, Thai Curry, Japanese Udon noodles, and honestly so much more that you might need to order twice to try it all. They're open Wednesday through Sunday from 4:30pm until 10:30pm (taking Mondays and Tuesdays off because even the best need their rest), serving up the freshest ingredients carefully prepared. Their menu spans appetisers, curries, chef's specials, roast duck, king prawns, vegetarian options, noodles, fried rice, and even European dishes served with chips for the indecisive among us. Located at 153 Burnfield Road in Giffnock, they're doing both collection and home delivery across the area. Order online or ring them on 0141 637 0568. With that kind of variety and quality, it's no wonder they've built a proper following. When you need Cantonese comfort food done right, Yummy's got you sorted.

What People Are Saying

Yummy Chinese Takeaway Giffnock offers Chinese takeaway, receiving mixed reviews that reflect both strengths when quality standards are met and significant concerns about service, delivery times, and customer service. The takeaway has been described as one of the nicest eaten, best takeaway in south side of Glasgow, and favourite Chinese in the South side when operating well, though service and delivery issues have been raised by some reviewers.

The food at Yummy Chinese receives outstanding reviews, with dishes consistently described as one of the nicest eaten, always so fresh and tasty, large portions, excellent, and never had a bad meal. The restaurant offers a great menu with a great variety, and reviewers note if there's anything you don't like they happy swap it for anything else. The restaurant offers customization options, with reviewers noting they love the way you can customise your order, e.g., chicken curry with or without onions, whether it's mild or hot. The food quality is such that reviewers note they never had a bad experience here, and they love it. The food is described as excellent, and it's always so fresh and tasty with large portions.

The restaurant offers snack boxes that are described as great value for money, and they offer catering services, with one reviewer noting they catered for 80 at their party and everyone loved it.

Service at Yummy Chinese has been inconsistent. When service is good, reviewers note they are happy to swap items for anything else, and the service contributes to positive experiences. However, there have been significant service issues reported, with service described as shockingly bad attitude and customer service, and petty spitefulness. One reviewer noted they phoned their order and was told it won't be long, but after waiting an hour they phoned back and were asked if they were sure they'd ordered it. The staff then said ok I see it now it won't be long, but after waiting another 30 mins they phoned back and said that's now an hour and a half. The staff said they are waiting on a driver, and when the customer told them to cancel it, they said it's already made, which to the customer means it's going to be cold. Another reviewer noted they ordered online via their website (as they only take cash in the shop), and when they went to collect they were told the prices on their website are wrong and they wanted extra money for the sauce they had ordered. The reviewer noted they had already paid 60p for sauce, 50p service charge, and £1.40 for prawn crackers that you're supposed to get free if you spend over £15 according to their menu, but this is not mentioned on their website. The order came to almost £30 and they wanted to argue over a few pennies different for sauce which was undercharged due to an error on their website. They finally agreed to supply the sauce, and when the customer got home they discovered that the woman who cooks the meals has intentionally only given them 1/3 of a tub of sauce. The service issues are such that reviewers note shockingly bad attitude and customer service, petty spitefulness all over an error on THEIR website, and they have been using this takeaway for years but will not be back.

For visitors to Glasgow, Yummy Chinese offers Chinese takeaway that can be one of the nicest eaten and best takeaway in south side of Glasgow when quality standards are met. The takeaway's ability to deliver always so fresh and tasty food, large portions, excellent quality, and customization options has earned it positive recommendations from many reviewers. However, there have been significant concerns raised about service (including shockingly bad attitude and petty spitefulness), delivery times (including 1.5 hour waits), and customer service (including unsatisfactory handling of order issues). The combination of generally excellent food when quality is consistent, but significant service and delivery concerns, makes it a mixed experience, and the takeaway would benefit from addressing service standards, improving delivery times, and ensuring proper customer care to ensure all guests have positive experiences.

Ordered online via their website as they only take cash in the shop. Told when I went to collect that the prices on their website are wrong and they wanted extra money for the sauce I had ordered. Told them I don't have cash and I don't want my order if they're not going to give me sauce with it so they can refund in full and I'll go elsewhere - bare in mind that I have already paid 60p for sauce, 50p service charge and £1.40 for prawn crackers that you're supposed to get free if you spend over £15 according to their menu, but this is not mentioned on their website. My order came to almost £30 and they wanted to argue over a few pennies different for sauce which was a underchaged due to an error on their website. Shockingly bad attitude and customer service, petty spitefulness all over an error on THEIR website. Have been using this takeaway for years, will not be back. Plenty of other Chinese takeaways in Giffnock to choose from.
