Okome Shawlands

On this visit we got a big mix of things: - King prawn tempura - Chicken gyoza - Fried chicken - Salt and chilli chicken - Kimchi cheesy fries - Regular fries - Steamed rice - Maki Set The reason we got two sets of fries is because my boyfriend doesn’t like kimchi but I was desperate to try the cheesy kimchi fries! We thought it would be a small portion but both showed up quite big so this was probaly a mistake on our part. However, the kimchi fries were absolutely delish! 🍱 The maki sushi set was a perfect amount to try a few different things and it had a nice variety of fish and chicken. I feel a lot of sushi sets are only one thing so this was great. 🥟 The chicken and the gyozas were delicious and the prawn tempura was huge and tasted nice but I would have preferred the batter was just a bit crispier and cooked slightly longer. Overall a delicious dinner from somewhere I keep going back to!

Very friendly service, Average food , We ordered chicken yashisoba which was ok tasted more like a chowmein , No chilli paste in bibimbap and bland boiled chix on top , although veg option was better. Sushi platter was good. Pricing is an overall package including set up, service, location , parking and then to pay £14 for a bowl when none of above exists seemed over priced for family of 4 average £80-90 without desert This was our second visit . Since my kids love it, we will be back.

Impromptu Lunches are the best Lunches! Wow - @okomegalashiels ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First time visiting and definitely will be back! Ordered the Salt & Chilli Chips with Veggie platter of sushi & a lychee green tea! Incredible! The photo of the chips doesn't do it justice for the size, as I had already eaten half of them.. 😍 All in £16.15 worth every penny! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Had a takeaway of vegetable noodles that was very tasty and rice dishes with chicken. Loaded with chicken! And prawn goza that was super tasty too. Delivered by lovely, elderly gentleman. It also arrived much faster than expected.

Okome has quickly become my daughter's favorite spot for sushi in Southside. The freshness and high quality of the ingredients are truly impressive. Their generous portions, combined with a welcoming atmosphere, make each visit a delight. It's a fantastic value for the money, and we always leave looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommend!
