Overview

Malaga Tapas began at 213-215 St Andrews Road in Pollokshields in 2011 as a family-run Spanish tapas restaurant. Owners Jamie and Antonio and their family built the brand from this southside site over 15 years before opening further branches. The kitchen served classic tapas and paella, with drinks including sherry, sangria and cocktails. Reviewers often recommended dishes such as cordero en salsa, gambas al ajillo, albondigas and seafood paella. In June 2026 the Pollokshields branch closed. Glasgow Live and Glasgow World reported a statement from Jamie, Antonio and the family saying a maintenance issue and circumstances beyond their control forced them to shut, and that they would focus on their other venues. The restaurant's website no longer lists St Andrews Road among its locations. Anyone looking at this address should treat it as closed. Sister restaurants remain open at 144 Park Road in the West End, in Bearsden and in Clarkston.

Really delicious food, and super friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of vegan options - the chef went through the whole menu marking what was vegan for us. We had the lentils, chickpeas, pan Catalan, and patatas bravas. All delicious. Definitely coming back :D

Fantastic quality tapas with a great variety of dishes. It feels like a Spanish restaurant you would find abroad with all the nick nacks and the decor. Every dish we had was great, came out quickly and was so full of flavour. A few special shout outs to the Pollo Burgos , Calamari & the fried aubergine with Spanish honey. The service was fast and friendly and we will back for sure.

Hands down the best meal I've ever had. Every tapas dish I had was incredible, with a lovely atmosphere also which is a bonus. Can't wait to come back, was already planning my next visit before I had even left! Staff were super friendly.
