Overview

Dumpling Monkey opened in November 2013 at 121 Dumbarton Road in Partick / the West End, co-owned by Shannon L. and her husband. It billed itself as Glasgow’s first specialist dumpling and steamed-bun spot, with northern Chinese-inspired dumplings, potstickers, noodles and wonton soups, plus bubble teas. Dish Cult notes portions of about ten dumplings from around £5; diners often spend £10–20pp. It is a small, no-frills, high-turnover room: quick service, cramped tables, strong takeaway and delivery trade. Handmade dumplings remain the draw; recent reviews are mixed on consistency and service. Open roughly noon–10pm daily. Kelvinhall subway is a short walk along Dumbarton Road.

Perfect place to go and have a quick, cheap and tasty meal with friends. Service might not be as good but the food makes up for it

gone downhill! Think dumpling wrappers as thick as cornish pastry, stuffed with frozen peas, carrots and sweetcorn 🤢. tasteless broth and overall under seasoned!

We stopped by while making our way home for some take away. The food was ready extremely quickly! It was still warm when we arrived home. The pricing? Excellent! Honestly, value for money! I definitely recommend this if you want to have a chill night at home and collect some food on your way.

Don’t understand all the recent negative reviews. Have been coming to Dumpling Monkey for years and went again today, the food is consistently good. Comes out quickly and is always hot and fresh. The restaurant environment is very casual and you order at the till, so I don’t know what people are expecting! but the food is very reasonably priced and delicious. Would recommend to anyone!

Food is tasty and good value for money. I ordered the beef flank udon and whilst the broth was very flavourful, the beef itself was mostly just the fatty parts and very little actual beef. The restaurant itself is cramped and has stools which are a bit uncomfortable. Staff aren't the friendliest but I would still recommend it due to the food which is nice
