Overview

Blue Lagoon Fish & Chips on Dumbarton Road (244 Dumbarton Rd, Partick, G11 6TU) is a branch of Glasgow’s long-running Blue Lagoon chippy chain. Founders Ersilio and Edda Varese opened the first shop on Sauchiehall Street in 1975; the Varese family still runs the brand (now third generation). Phone 0141 328 2238; Instagram @bluelagoonfishandchips. Classic Scottish chippy fare — fish & chips, pizza crunch, fried Mars bars — with takeaway and delivery. Restaurant Guru hours for this branch: Mon/Wed/Thu 11:30–00:30; Tue 10:30–01:30; Fri 10:30–01:30; Sat 12:30–01:30; Sun 12:30–00:30 (verify on the day). Near Kelvinhall subway on the Partick / Byres Road approach. Google rating is modest (~3.2); reviews split between pizza-crunch fans and critics of soggy batter — treat as a late-night convenience chippy rather than a destination.

Had to try the Deep fried Battered Mars bar. Tasted nice and soft in the middle slightly crunchy on the outside. Perfect blend. Highly recommended

Screw blue lagoon as a celiac I THOUGHT it was once place I could get gluten free chips, after travelling multiple subway stations to get here I was informed ‘only the city centre does gluten free’ either DO GLUTEN FREE OR DONT DO IT AT ALL!! Totally misinformation as I googled ‘gluten free food partick’ and blue lagoon comes up. Raging. And hungry. And sad.

Went in for a single fish then asked for a can of Pepsi max which was prices marked 75p or 85p can’t mind and tryed to charge me £1.60 for it when i questioned it he said that’s the price of the can but I said it’s price Marked so that’s what he should be charging for it and he said the extra is to cover the cost of the electricity for it being in the fridge lol deadly serious aswell
