Overview

Village Curry House is a family-run Lahori Pakistani restaurant in Tradeston, welcoming diners since September 1997. Founder Azhar (Azher) Baig’s place was among Glasgow’s early alcohol-free, family-friendly curry rooms — mango lassi instead of beer — and helped normalise sit-down Desi dining for families who rarely ate out. The restaurant entrance is on West Street; takeaway still uses the Nelson Street side of the same building after the purpose-built space opened in 2012. Expect charcoal grill and tawa sharing: karahi, mix grill, chana, naan and roti, plus newer rice bowls. Fully halal; no alcohol and no BYOB. Some dishes can be gluten-free if you ask (kitchen can’t guarantee zero cross-contamination). Prayer room upstairs. Family Restaurant of the Year for Scotland 2019; Azher Baig has a lifetime achievement award cited on their site. Walk-ins fine; book online for up to 10, call for 11+. Events suite for large parties (up to ~100). Open from noon daily. Bridge Street / West Street subway area.

Had just ordered samosa chana chat and the chana seems so off. It tastes like they have been using the old chana the samosa is okay tho. It's a request if customers are ordering and paying for something at least don't use old stuff. We are not fools who won't get to know!!!

Two,three years ago,it had fantastic food but now is rubbish,Nan is major and easy item but we’re burn and dry, same was Chapati, mix grill was loaded with seekh kebab, whose menace was feeling short or over dated, because taste was not good. Service : first of all there are no professional waiters, even head waiter doesn’t know how to serve, which dishes should be first, like starter or appetisers and salads should be served in the start and then main course, but they bring altogether on table, so i wasted £288 for nothing.
