The Griffin has stood on the corner of Bath Street and Elmbank Street since 1903 (formerly the King’s Arms), long a theatre-goers’ pub opposite the King’s Theatre. The Category B listed interior still shows Art Nouveau remnants from William Reid’s 1903–4 remodelling, though CAMRA notes later alterations. After closing in March 2020, Isle of Skye Brewing Company owner Kenny Webster bought it from Oli Norman and reopened in 2022 after a refurbishment, with Skye cask ales on the handpumps and traditional pub food from a resident chef. Hours Mon–Sat 11am–midnight, Sunday noon–midnight. Book online or call 0141 332 2833 / hello@thegriffinglasgow.co.uk. Dog-friendly; family-friendly until evening with meals. Function room at the rear for comedy and music. Charing Cross station and Cowcaddens Subway are nearby.
Stumbled upon this pub while doing laundry so stopped and had a pint. Menu looked appealing so we came back another night for dinner. The food was amazing! I can highly recommend the haggis, neeps and tatties - was the best I had all over Scotland.

The staff were absolutely incredible! Honestly so kind and couldn't do enough to help us out. They were also really responsive in the lead up. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a fab space. Could have our own music and imagery projected too. Thank you to the Griffin team again!
Read on Google MapsReally solid burger on a delicious pretzel bun. Sauce wasn't much to write home about, but they had fun beer and alcohol options too. Can get quite busy and loud, but we got there in time for a table.
