Syrian Pie is a small wood-fired cafe inside House of Sher (Sher Bros shopping mall) on Wallace Street in Kinning Park. Fresh dough is flattened and cooked in a large open wood oven while you wait — the "pies" are thin Syrian flatbreads closer to pizza or pide than a deep dish. Signature toppings include spicy muhammara (their standout tangy sauce), zaatar, halloumi, and meat options such as toshka and minced-lamb specials. There is also a wide vegetarian and vegan range (spinach, olive, labneh and falafel pies), plus mezze like hummus, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, shakshuka and falafel wraps. Delivery platforms list the kitchen as serving halal food. Prices are low: individual pies typically land around the £6–8 mark on current delivery menus (Herald critic Ron Mackenna scored value 5/5 when pies were £3.50–£5.50). Sit-in is casual cafe tables with a picture window over Wallace Street; takeaway and delivery are strong options. HappyCow lists hours roughly 10:00–20:00 daily. Busy on Friday and Saturday evenings according to the Herald visit. Shields Road subway is about 350 m / a few minutes' walk.
The smell of the food from outside was hypnotising. I ordered three different pies and each one had a unique flavour and texture. I highly recommend you spend some time and money here and get amazing traditional food.
