Six By Nico

Fabulous food, amazing value for money, so very highly recommended. Serial repeat visitor here - you should go too. This time the concept was "Space", excellent presentation and menu concept That said I wish the management would work on front of house, including the ambiance - weird gangsta rap music no matter what theme the food is. And perhaps the chef should should stay in the kitchen and ensure things are cooked, rather than hang by the bar? Our roast potatoes were raw, albeit finished beautifully in the pan. And various other veg was the same.

We had heard and read a lot about Six by Nico's so decided to give it a go for our date night. And the place did not disappoint, we loved every aspect of it. We went for the 6 course tasting menu and the ongoing menu was "Six Wonders of the World". When we saw the portion size of the first menu, we did feel that we may end up hungry by the end of the night but we were wrong - after we finished all six courses our bellies as well as our heart was content. We also ordered the accompanying cocktails with the menu that were truly potent but complimented the food really well. The point that stood out for us was that every ingredient in each course had a delightful flavour. The staff also had a mystery game to keep us entertained through the dinner which was a great value add. Between the two of us, we ordered one regular and the other vegetarian option, and I must say that for all 6 courses both options were equally delicious. The only con I felt was the pricing which I felt is bit on a higher end, hence a 4 star instead of 5. But I wouldn't mind returning again. This can be one of those places that are meant for a special occasion. Definitely worth a try at least once.

Had our last dinner in Glasgow here. We found out about the restaurant from a list of highly recommended restaurants in Glasgow and all I can say is wow. It’s a great concept, with a rotating menu. The staff were very friendly and ensured we were well taken care of the entire night. And the food!!! SO GOOD. We made it here for the New Orleans menu and thoroughly enjoyed every course. Only sad part is the upcoming menus look equally as delicious and we won’t be able to try them from Canada!

A brilliant experience. The food was outstanding and meticulously prepared. In addition the waitress was highly knowledgeable about the dishes and appeared to have a genuine passion for the subject. I would highly recommend this venue.

This exceeded my expectations on all accounts. Six by Nico provides a cosy, intimate environment to sample considered, elegant, fine dining at an incredibly reasonable value. For those peeking into the gastronomical / Michelin world, this is a great intro. We had the New Orleans tasting menu and I was taken back to my trip there 20 years ago. The shrimp and grits was the best I've had since NOLA, and I literally could have drank the gumbo sauce from a pitcher. Our waiter Ross was knowledgeable but also appropriately casual to match the venue's atmosphere. He even brought me a bowl of the crab brown butter foam, ie gumbo sauce, which was just as good for dunking delicious sourdough as it was expertly paired with its crafted signature dish. As another endorsement to flavour bombs, the "pork and cheese" course expertly skirted the edge of unami hits while providing an interesting flavour profile with each pairing of ingredients. Last but not least, the desert course centered around bananas, which I usually find contentious. The creme fraiche sorbet and cocoa crumb paired with the sweet mouse like texture of the banana delice somehow took me back to the childhood nostalgia of apple crumb. And the beignet - as good as I remember from Cafe Du Monde itself. Kudos Six by Nico. You did New Orleans very proud. Hope to see you again soon.
