Sholeh was a family-run Persian restaurant at 146–148 Nelson Street in Kinning Park, Glasgow (G5 8EJ). Its Mealzo about page and main site said it had served Persian food and Mediterranean grills since 2007; the name means fire or flame, according to Tom Johnston’s October 2021 review on Tom’s Food!. That review names co-owner Azar and chef husband Vahid (Johnston flagged a possible spelling slip on the chef’s name) and describes booths downstairs, a gallery upstairs, tandoor-baked Persian naan, mazeh starters, charcoal kebabs and slow-cooked khoresht. The Glasgow Times (Amy Myles, 20 July 2025) reported the leasehold business for sale at £90,000 via Businesses For Sale, with rent £18,000 a year, room for about 85 diners, two commercial kitchens and a private rear car park. By early September 2025 r/glasgow diners were asking for alternatives after it closed; the Mealzo order site still shows delivery and collection unavailable and “Currently closed.” Companies House lists SHOLEH RESTAURANT LTD (SC620046), registered at 146 Nelson Street, as dissolved on 15 September 2026 (incorporated 4 February 2019; SIC 56102 unlicensed restaurants and cafes). Treat the venue as closed. When it traded, Mealzo marked the cuisine as halal and listed signature lines such as Kubideh, Barg, Shishlik, Soltani, Ghorme Sabzi, Fesenjan, Zereshk Polo and Baghala Polo ba Mahiche. Nearest Subway is Kinning Park; local bus stops include Laidlaw Street and James Watt Street.
Wow.. we were blown away by this place. We had been meaning to try here for a while, and I'm disappointed we haven't sooner. The mixed grill was the best mixed grill we have ever had (and we have had many) staff were very friendly and attentive. We will be back. Thank you!

I started my meal in Sholeh with a lot of skepticism, but every bite surprised me step by step to the point that I decided to call it one of the best experiences I had with a Persian restaurant. I ordered a Soltani and my wife ordered a Momtaz. All the kabab skewers were perfect. Koubide, Juje, and Barg were tender, juicy and balanced in the spices. The rice coming with the dish taste descent (A bit of a better saffron can bring it to the next level). I highly suggest the marinated olive side dish next to the meal. I suggest Sholeh for a premium experience of Persian grill dishes.

Read on Google MapsTasty Iranian food in Glasgow. London is spoilt for choice for great Iranian venues so my rating biased. Just trying to focus the attention on the food, it was tasty and meats were as expected. Venue looks a little tired. Service was nice from the ladies but a tad slow. Car parking at rear is a great addition but tight.
