Out-bloody-standing. Went in with high expectations and were well and truly exceeded. Tremendous curry. Pictured is the Sabji and the Daal (of the days) alongside some veg pakora and the most delicious breads. Dipping away with friends into the spectacular curries after a couple jars was an absolute delight. This place is truly a highlight of the south side. There were plenty of spaces on big tables that you share with other patrons. The decor of the place was simple but warm and comfy. It was excellent for a relaxing dinner with friends. The food was the real star of the show though, not for a second did I think meat would have enhanced these dishes. The spices and perfect blend of consistencies really built a taste experience from the start to the end of the meal. The staff were very helpful and friendly which is always a big green tick from me. I just want their recipes now!! Definitely the best food I’ve had (so far) in the south side. I was also very drunk. Cheers to everyone running this excellent business! :)
Read on Google MapsGreat indian food in the southside with lots of vegetarian options. I tried the thali which came with a daal and sabji of the day, homemade yoghurt, roti and chutney. The portion is really good for the price, and you get to try a bit of everything. The daal is creamy and smooth. The sabji is flavourful paired great with the roti. The special pakora is insanely good, crispy batter, full of flavour and the chutney made it a perfect paring. I totally revoked their pakora, it might be my favourite pakora in Glasgow. The samosa channa special is okay, the samosa is not as crispy as I’d like but the sweet channa is full of flavour, again, big portion. The Punjabi cha is too mild for my preference, wish spice flavour is stronger, the sweet it came with is amazing tho. The whole restaurant feels clean and open, with a counter displaying their homemade sweets and snacks. They don’t have a lot of seating and it’s pretty popular. The menu offers a good range of variety of food to try. Great friendly service!
Read on Google MapsThe food was soooooooo sooooo soooooo goood! The quality, quantity and taste all 100%. The value for money is so great! Made my day!! One of the best restaurants in UK…every dish was made with love!! Cant wait to come back!!
Read on Google MapsDelicious and fresh food - a truly home cooked meal. The roti were delicious. We had the thali and an aloo paratha with Chana. The space was well light and welcoming. Highly recommend for a simple experience.
Read on Google MapsBeen meaning to try Ranjit’s Kitchen for ages, and I finally stopped in one Friday evening. I can see why it’s so popular! I got Ranjit’s Punjabi Thali, £11.95 - a great way to sample a mix of their dishes, with the daal of the day (lentil & chickpea), sabji (spiced turnip), homemade yoghurt, salad, 2 rotis, pickle & chutney. The small plates were great, giving you a chance to try different flavours. Also tried the Sweet Chana with Paneer, £6.50, Aloo Tiki Special, £7, and a Mango Lassi, £2.20—plus 2 extra roti (£1.35 each) because you can never have too much. The thali was packed with flavour, and the small plates added variety. Not a huge fan of the aloo tiki - it just felt like battered mash (not a good thing), nothing standout. The place has a lovely, welcoming feel and the staff were great. For what you get, it’s excellent value. Well worth a visit! Follow me on insta for more reviews: @Lewishere_lewisthere
