Reviews
The service and food were exceptional. I had haggis for the first time, and I absolutely loved it. The way they served haggis was really beautiful. Also had drambuei, venison, and sticky toffee pudding, and my colleague had sirloin steak; everything exceptional. Slightly on the expensive side, but worth every penny!
Read on Google MapsI finally tried this restaurant after hearing glowing recommendations—and it did not disappoint. I was seated straight away, and from the moment I looked at the menu, I knew I had to go for one of their signature dishes: the lamb leg with haggis and vegetables. It turned out to be the best decision of the night. The lamb was perfectly crackled on the outside yet tender inside, with every bite packed with flavour. The presentation was beautiful, and I started the meal with a delicious, comforting soup that set the tone for the evening. Service was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant had a relaxed, inviting ambiance. A great dining experience all around—I’ll definitely be returning.
Read on Google MapsLet’s start with the staff, and the service! The three gentlemen who looked after us were great, very attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. Food was exceptional, we usually go to Mini grill all the time (sister company) so had high hopes for meat joint, and it didn’t disappoint. Good whisky selection too! We will be back.
Read on Google MapsWe had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The steak was perfectly grilled with a delicious crust and a generous sprinkling of sea salt, paired with thick, golden chips that were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside—great portion size too. The lamb main was equally impressive. Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, it came with a variety of textures and flavours that made every bite enjoyable—especially the crispy elements and the flavourful sauce. For dessert, the raspberry tart was a lovely finish. Light, creamy, and not too sweet, with just the right tartness from the raspberry coulis and fresh fruit. Service was smooth, and the overall value was excellent for the quality and portion sizes. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Edinburgh looking for a satisfying meal that doesn’t skimp on flavour or quantity.
Read on Google MapsWe visited The Meat Joint a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary as it was recommended to us by a friend. Tucked away at the bottom of Sauchiehall street, as we walked in passers by told us we were in for a treat - and they were absolutely right - this hidden gem is small but mighty! We were greeted by a lovely, small team who really knew their stuff about the locally sourced ingredients and their best wine pairings. The service was very personal and felt very natural - the staff were very genuine and conversational. We opted for the scallops, chateaubriand (served with skin on fries, garlic butter and peppercorn sauce). The presentation was immaculate and the food was beautiful. The stand out for us was the steak (cooked medium-rare) with a beautifully grilled crispy outer finish. We had clean plates by the end of the meal and smiles on our faces after having a wee laugh with the staff. It really made our anniversary that bit more special, we will absolutely be back and cannot recommend it enough!
