Glasgow restaurant
Malmaison Glasgow is a 72-room boutique hotel at 278 West George Street, just west of Blythswood Square. The building is the former St Jude's Church, a Greek Revival design by John Stephen that opened in 1839 and is now Category B listed. It later became offices and was turned into the Malmaison hotel in the 1990s. The restaurant is Chez Mal Brasserie & Bar, which Malmaison describes as a modern British brasserie with a French twist. Some dishes are cooked on Konro and Josper grills, and the bar serves signature cocktails and wine. Afternoon tea is also on offer. In autumn 2026 the hotel advertised a two-course Prix Fixe menu for £24.95, served at lunch and for early dining from 17:00 to 19:00. The hotel is cashless, and it has private dining and event spaces for meetings, weddings and parties.
Very spacious room, large bed. Very comfy. Has iron and ironing board in room. Shower very nice. Bar downstairs is great, lovely tall ceiling. We didn't have a meal there, but the breakfast was very good with a choice of cooked or continental. Location is very close to centre as well. They share parking with Q car park, so there's a discount code. It's an uphill walk to Malmaison from the car park though.
Read on Google MapsThe minute you walk in you are greeted by very friendly staff who are very helpful. The rooms feel clean, luxurious and have all the amenities you need to have a pleasant stay. The breakfast is some of the best I had and the food served is delicious and wonderfully presented. The people that served me really go the extra mile and make you feel as a valued guest. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
Read on Google MapsGood location for just out of main stream. Staff amazing. All rooms despite size has all requirements for an excellent city break. We parked our car and used the excellent Glasgow taxi service which all hotels and restaurants use. You could say the breakfast is on the expensive side but the choice is amazing and portions very generous. Top class comfortable beds.
Read on Google MapsI bought my husband here the Sunday lunch promotion for a birthday celebration, but they postponed the offer to next week and didn't let me know in time. The staff handled it really well and gave us a complimentary afternoon tea instead and booked us in to come back for Sunday lunch another time. Staff were all attentive too.

I was in the 'old' part of the hotel and whilst the facilities were fine and the room temperature was OK, it just felt that everything was a bit creaky and there was quite a lot of noise from other room's doors closing and people walking around on their floors. The water pressure was a bit hit and miss as well. I went to the bar in the evening and stood for 10 minutes waiting for someone to turn up and take my order. The food was nice and served quickly but overall I think my experience here was just 'ok'
