Little Italy is a long-running Italian coffee bar and pizzeria at 205 Byres Road in Glasgow’s West End, open since 1994. Owner Remo Crolla opened it at 23 after working at his father’s Dino’s on Sauchiehall Street, aiming for a classic Italian counter bar — granite, coffee, pizza and pasta cooked to order — rather than a formal trattoria. A 2016 redesign added a mezzanine while keeping the high window stools that make Byres Road people-watching part of the draw. It runs all day: breakfast through dinner, takeaway and click-and-collect alongside table service, with a drinks licence for wine or beer. Press and local guides still flag packed calzones, pizza and pasta as the reasons to go; Remo himself stresses consistency, speed, affordability and a family-friendly room that regulars recognise across decades. Book online via Dish Cult for the mezzanine (parties up to 8); ground-floor tables are held for walk-ins, and outdoor tables are first-come, weather permitting. Groups of 5+ on Fri–Sun need card details (£10/head if you cancel within 6 hours or no-show). Tables of 7+ get a discretionary 10% service charge. Last kitchen orders are 8pm Sun–Thu and 9pm Fri–Sat. Hillhead Subway is roughly a 2-minute walk; Kelvinhall about 7 minutes.
Went today with my 3 children. 1. 10inch cheese and tomato pizza 2. Pasta funghi 3. Pasta arrabiata 4. Chilli prawns 5. Ferrero Roche cheesecake, ice cream scoops & latte All of the above was fantastic and can't fault the food and service. They have a wide selection of cheesecakes and desserts. I recommend them all.
Read on Google MapsStayed in Glasgow for about a week and ate here a few times. It was incredible every time. The foccacia is perfect, the pesto pollo was the best I've ever eaten and very filling. The eggplant dish was perfectly cooked and had the right sauce ratio. We had a couple deserts there as well that hit the spot. I wish I had this restaurant back home!
Read on Google MapsWe had an excellent experience at Little Italy on Byres Road. The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. I enjoyed a delicious bacon roll that was cooked to perfection – crispy and flavorful. The flat white was beautifully made, with the right balance of strong coffee and smooth milk. Overall, a fantastic spot for a quality Saturday morning breakfast or coffee, and I’ll definitely be returning soon! Atmosphere reduced by one point as there seemed to be a elder man ( i won't say gentlemen) perhaps an owner with two other men. Who were quite rude to the service staff. Who (staff)in my opinion were attentive without intrusion and extremely well mannered.
Read on Google MapsHadn't been to little italy in a while but it did not dissappoint. As always the food was delicious. Special mention to the waiting staff Zique and Veronica. They were very attentive and both had such a lovely manner which can often be rare these days.
