King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut opened in 1990 at 272A St Vincent Street and is still Glasgow’s best-known small live-music room — a 300-capacity DF Concerts venue that NME once called Britain’s Best Small Venue (2011) and “quite possibly the finest small venue in the world.” Radio 1 named it UK’s Best Live Venue three years running. Early Scottish shows by Blur, Manic Street Preachers and the Oasis/Alan McGee night are part of the lore; later years hosted everyone from Arctic Monkeys to Fontaines D.C. on the way up. Food is secondary to the gigs: the basement Bar & Kitchen does casual bar food (burgers, chilli, mac and cheese and similar) for pre-show fuel rather than destination dining. The public bar only opens on show days plus Saturday afternoon (typical starts: Mon–Thu from 6pm, Fri 4pm, Sat/Sun 2pm — check the What’s On page). Over-18s only in the bar after 6pm for most events. Tickets and door times are event-by-event via kingtuts.co.uk. Anderston or Buchanan Street subway and Central Station are all walkable along St Vincent Street.
Iconic venue, friendly atmosphere, good for a quick drink or a gig. Great support for upcoming artists go see some bands you have never heard of, buy a ticket, take a chance, unearth a musical gem. Some of the biggest names in music have graced the stage at Tutts at some point in their musical journey, go pay it a visit and see if you find the next big thing
Read on Google MapsA great and iconic music venue. The main bar area has plenty of seating and a good range of drinks, including craft beers on draught. They also have a decent selection of zero or very low alcohol beers, which is handy if you've driven to see a band. Upstairs is the performance area with its own bar. It's small, capacity is only around 300, giving it an intimate vibe and a great atmosphere. The risers on the stairs have the names of bands that have performed at King Tut's over the years. There are lots and you'll have heard of the vast majority. Loads of parking on the surrounding streets and if you arrive after 6pm it's free. Haven't tried the food so can't comment on that but everything else about the place is spot on.
