I bought a munchy box last week. The donner meat was tasty but extremely greasy, the chips were ok but the chicken and vegetable pakora wasn't fresh and over cooked/reheated so much they went in the bin. A waste of a tenner. I was in the area today and gave them the benefit of the doubt, mostly through convenience. I bought another munchy box and guess what. The exact same unfit for eating substandard rock solid pakora accompanied by greasy donner meat. A waste of £13 this time! When I phoned to tell them, the old guy at the desk apologised but made the excuse that he was busy and put the phone down hastily. The shop was dead when I went in so pure nonsense. He did offer a fresh meal but by that time I was 6 miles away in my house. Busy or not - DO NOT PUT OUT SUBSTANDARD FOOD. In my opinion the shops reputation is overated bs! I won't be back.

The Herald rated service 2/5 and atmosphere 3/5, and suggested phoning your order through (0141 429 1232) and collecting. Reviewers consistently praise the charcoal-grilled kebabs, fresh bread, salad and sauce, and the low prices. They also note irregular hours, including an annual summer break, so calling ahead is wise. Check before you go: in October 2025, posts on r/glasgow reported the shop fenced off with a notice about a building issue, and later posts said it had shut. As of October 2026 we found no confirmed reopening, though some directory listings still show opening hours. The website listed for it shows only a blank hosting page, and its Instagram (@istanbulglasgow) has no posts.

The portions are very generous and delicious. Only downside is there is no place to sit so you have to take the order and leave. The staff was also very helpful.

Food is always cooked to perfection, salad is fresh, top quality chips, and their kebab sauce is different from What you will find anywhere else. Prices are very reasonable too. Boss man always greets you and bids farewell with a smile 👌🏽
