Stopped in for a full breakfast, which was amazing -- and then I got to make my own Bloody Mary! Usually I prefer to leave mixology to the pros but I got a double gin before adding exactly the hot sauce, spices, and garnishes I wanted. Perfect with breakfast.

Overview
Hillhead Bookclub occupies the listed former Salon cinema on Vinicombe Street, a short hop from Hillhead subway. It opened in summer 2010 as a West End bar-restaurant: hearty plates, brunch, cocktails, ping-pong upstairs, retro games and a student-friendly late scene. Food is casual and priced to match — brunch Fri–Sun 11–3, kitchen last orders around 9pm — with vegan options flagged on the site. Expect pub comfort rather than fine dining; the draw is the room (ornate cinema ceiling), the games, and the events calendar (DJs, karaoke, bingo, Sunday live music). Book online or walk in; outdoor seats are first-come only. Kids welcome with a meal earlier in the evening (last seating roughly 6pm Sun–Thu, 4pm Fri–Sat). Private hire includes Poets Corner and the mezzanine. Part of the wider Scotsman Hospitality events portfolio.
Reviews
This bookclub bar had great vibes and an awesome Photo Booth that my friend and I definitely abused LOL. The drinks were pretty cheap and there was ping pong, Pac-Man, pool, and board games. People of all ages were here and the staff were great! Very vibey little place, totally recommend for a good gossip sesh!
Read on Google MapsHad an amazing time. Very cost vibe. Went there with a friend and we both left super happy. Had the drinks and some fries, very sad to not try the other food as we were not that hungry. But we vibed on the drinks and chatted and it was so comfortable. The staff is lovely. Happy faces and smiles. Will definitely come back.
Read on Google MapsAn absolutely adorable spot that has incredible food and a cool vibe. We arrived right when they opened, which is why I suspect it took so long for our food, but it was mostly worth the wait. The staff was also very nice. I hope to return soon
Read on Google MapsBig time fan of the bookclub since it opened. Try and beat my high scores on PAC man. Enjoy some table tennis for free. Food is great with the chicken and waffles option that seems to be a weegie delicacie. Great tunes and layout. Got very trendy later on with the "it" crowd. Great for food and drinking and socialising.
