Goat in the Tree is a tiny family-run Moroccan restaurant at 16 Park Road in Glasgow’s West End — cosy shop-unit dining with tagines, couscous, pastilla and mint tea. Owner Abs is from Morocco; reviews also name Liz among the welcoming team. Herald critic Ron Mackenna scored it 26/30 for honest, punchy home-style cooking in a warm, cramped room (roughly a dozen covers). Signature plates from that review and diners: chicken pastilla, zaalouk with pitta, Moroccan chicken (m’hammar) on turmeric rice, meatball tagine, merguez, harira, couscous, mint tea and homemade cheesecake. Once again, I visited Goat in the Tree, a Moroccan restaurant in Glasgow, together with my friends. I often host my meet-ups there. The owner, Abs, is originally from Morocco, and the food, tea, and desserts are truly traditional – so delicious and authentic. The warm, homely atmosphere makes me love coming back every time. I highly recommend this place! 🇲🇦

The food was outstanding — easily the best Moroccan we’ve ever had. The chicken puff pastry and soup were delicious starters, but the lamb and goat tajines stole the show with their rich, perfectly balanced flavors. Portions were spot-on. 10/10 — highly recommend!
