Deoch an Dorus is a traditional Partick freehouse at 427–429 Dumbarton Road — the name roughly means “one for the road.” The building was previously Hayburn Vaults; a refurb put it back at the centre of the Partick local scene (Scottish Licensed Trade News covered that chapter in 2012). Food is cooked on site: homemade soup, burgers, fajitas, Sunday roast and weekend breakfast rolls. Main kitchen hours are noon–8pm Mon–Sat and noon–6pm Sunday; breakfast rolls Sat–Sun 11am–2pm. Draught beer, wine and Scottish whisky sit behind the bar — Highly Commended for Beer Quality at the SLTN Awards 2025. Walk-ins only — no table bookings. Adults 18+ only; no pet dogs (assistance dogs: call ahead). Live sport on multiple screens and a covered heated outdoor area. Partick subway, rail and bus station are a few minutes’ walk.
Friendly traditional pub in Partick a short walk from Partick train station. Food is reasonably priced and of good quality. Vegetable fajitas were excellent. Good range of drinks. Smoking area to back of pub. Large screens to watch football.

Serving and bar staff were welcoming and attentive, chef was accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal that we were sharing and that we were more than satisfied. We enjoyed delicious fish and chips and a perfect steak pie! Wonderful place to dine and enjoy a drink and social time with family and friends. Thank you!
Read on Google Maps2 course lunch for £8.95! For this princely sum we received a delicious parsnip soup followed by equally delicious grilled haddock with a creamy leek sauce, new potatoes and peas. Top marks also for the tea being served in a tea pot 🫖. Superb value for money and served by extremely friendly staff. They also do an a la carte menu. Very nice toilets too.
