Had a tomato, roasted pepper and chilli soup the other week - phenomenal. Thus morning I had a bacon roll woth two homemade tattie scones. These were the best tattie scones I've had anywhere in Scotland. Service on both occasions exceptional, reasonably priced and fabulous vibe. Will be back several times before returning to Sydney
Read on Google MapsThe cafe is very aesthetically pleasing and has a nice atmosphere. We got seated pretty quickly and were just looking for some coffee and a pastry. We ordered a latte, a flat white, a lemon and blueberry poppyseed muffin and an almond croissant. Waited around 15-20 minutes for these to arrive which, whilst the cafe was busy, seemed quite a long time. The food was very nice, almond croissant was amazing, coffee was fine. Quite pricy for what it was. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I thought there was an overall nice vibe to the place.
Read on Google MapsA few weeks ago I ordered the most delicious soup I’ve tasted (I believe it was the corn and chipotle chilli oil). The sourdough bread on the side was phenomenal, and the portion size was very generous. I ordered a chai latte which was also great! I would return to Glasgow simply to revisit this lovely cafe.
Read on Google MapsI had really high hopes for Cottonrake Cafe having loved the bakery for as long as I’ve lived in Glasgow. However, it fell short for me. It’s incredibly busy which isn’t a problem, but we waited over 30 minutes for our coffees to arrive and nearly 50 minutes for our mains. A couple of us had the Mexican eggs which were tasty, but drowning in oil which was sickly after a few bites. I was left feeling that there are better places to eat in Glasgow both in terms of food and service (in terms of the time it takes to receive food/drinks). I also ordered a cake to take away and was given the wrong item but luckily checked the bag before leaving. I will say that the waitresses who served us were helpful and friendly and clearly doing the best they could in a busy environment.
Read on Google MapsI always love cottonrake for a brunch and was so excited to try the new evening menu they’ve started! It did not disappoint, the food was amazing especially the trout, crispy mushrooms and the broccoli. Definitely recommend checking out, amazing service too!
