Had a absolutely wonderful meal here recently! Food was outstanding. The mussel butter flat bread was definitely a highlight! The wine!!! Had an amazing bottle of Rioja Reserva which really topped the evening off. Service was also impeccable! Will definitely be back soon for another meal!
Read on Google MapsGorgeous wine bar! Beautiful! And the concept with a good variety of tapas-style dishes to combine your wine with is lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful and, although we visited the place at its opening weekend, they seemed very organised. We were also served pretty quickly, and the food was very tasty, with the highlight -in our opinion- being the croquetas de jamon which we couldn’t resist having a second round of! Considering the 50% discount at the opening weekend, it was without any doubt great value for money! However, I feel the original prices are quite high for the size of the portions…
Read on Google MapsThis place just KEEPS. GETTING. BETTER. The attention to detail in every aspect is clear from the moment you walk in. Spanish inspired small plates and an affordable wine list, which allows you to explore a range of by glass options, without feeling like you’ve over spent. Their food menu offers a perfect level of indulgence. One set alongside fresh, punchy flavours that don’t leave you feeling like you’ve over done it. The monkfish tail was an absolute 10/10. FoH staff were super attentive, but not overbearing. It’s great to see a team with such passion and enthusiasm, that clearly know their menu and are keen to offer advice. It’s the perfect summer venue and just what the west end was missing. Their outdoor seating is the ideal al fresco spot… but if you are popping down for a glass in the sun, don’t forget to check out their gorgeous interior.
Read on Google MapsThe Corner Shop is located on Old Dumbarton Rd, in the original spot where the Grain and Grind cafe used to be. The space feels rather cramped, particularly with a large candle and water jar taking up the space. The wine list is extensive, but the food menu offers only a limited selection. It's an interesting idea to serve sirloin topped with tximitxurri, but the steak was quite chewy. The pricing was also somewhat confusing---the sirloin was advertised at £32 on their instagram, but listed as £54 on the in-house menu. This discrepancy also happens to other dishes as well, with the tempura scallops increased from £11 to £13.5, and the whole dover sole with chicken rising from £37 to £45. The listing price for those mains is definitely overpriced. The tempura scallop had a complex, layered flavor, which was impressive. The oyster was fresh, and the albondiga was well-seasoned. Overall, it's a nice place for just a wee.
