Chillies West End is a contemporary Indian restaurant on Woodlands Road, between the city centre and the West End, open since 2008. It serves tapas-style small plates of curries, tandoori grills and seafood alongside larger sizzling meals, biryanis and pizzas, with takeaway and delivery as well as sit-in dining. The kitchen describes its food as halal. Signature and standout dishes on the current menu include tandoori lamb chops, Brie pakora, Punjabi haddock (weekend only) and Scottish haddock curries. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are clearly marked. Starter tapas run roughly £5–£12; curry tapas around £11–£14 for meat and seafood; tandoori sizzling meals with rice or naan £18–£28. It is BYOB with free corkage for wine and beer only — spirits are not allowed. Open seven days 4pm–10pm (last orders 9:30pm); closed Christmas Day, with earlier 9pm closes on 24 and 31 December. Online reservations are available for parties up to 40, and a separate dining room seats up to 20.
Great place to dine in! Got some sharing plates with my partner and a main. I thought the portion sizes were perfect. Service was excellent, relaxing atmosphere and food was delicious! Left feeling full and happy. P.S. Do yourself a favour and get the garlic naan it’s IMMENSE. Dripping in garlic butter. Easily the best one I’ve ever had!!
Read on Google MapsBeen here a couple of times for takeaway, will say that their chicken biryani is so amazing, it hits the spot. After a long day, if I just want warm comfort food, I always come here. Service is also amazing, the staff give great recommendations and are very kind.
Read on Google Maps£6.75 each for veg pakora - 5 small pieces each. £18 for a lamb curry for two, wasn't enough food for 1 person, never mind 2. Sauce was tasty but very few small pieces of meat. Portion of boiled rice was £3.50 and was half a bowl. Staff were nice but we got hussled out of the door because they were closing (10pm). Not recommended if you're hungry, rip-off pricing.
