Overview

Buffet King (百味居) is a Chinese hot-pot / malatang-style buffet and takeaway at 33 Old Dumbarton Road in Yorkhill (G3 8RD), near the Kelvinhaugh / Partick boundary. Phone 0141 334 5100. Listings put hours around 10:45–22:00 daily. The Chinese-language directory Feinfood describes it as a hot-pot and malatang buffet shop; diners also mention spicy hot pot and standard Chinese takeaway dishes. There is no polished booking site — Facebook is the public web presence. It is a walk-in / phone-order neighbourhood spot rather than a reserved dinner destination. Do not confuse it with the separate Buffet King all-you-can-eat restaurant that Glasgow Live covered in Tollcross. Glasgow City FHRS recorded Improvement Required at the 16 December 2025 inspection — check the live rating. Kelvinhall Subway is a short walk; Partick Interchange (rail and Subway) is also nearby.

Used this place quite a few times then the guy serving csme of with a nonsense story. Phoned to pick up a chow mein one night, told me no noodle in stock, then when few weeks later to order over counter to be told, the chef doesn't make chow mean any more for us type of people, asked him why and he started talking in chinese as if he didn't understand me and just ignored me as if I wasn't standing there. Absolutely shocking.

Few moths ago me and my boyfriend had take away from this place and it was lovely, tasty. But when I passed few times this place, the chef was spitting outside so loud that my stomach turned and it made me actually sick. The food was lovely but for the discuting loud spitting I won't be back.

Just as the other comment said, the hot-spicy pot here is very good.
