Overview
Bossa is a pizza-and-live-music bar at 69 Nithsdale Road in Strathbungo, in the old Zinfandel unit. Operator Jamie Aitken opened it at the end of August 2024 after a light refurb with a stage and DJ booth. The kitchen — led by a chef from Bologna — turns out 12" and 18" artisan pizzas (including The Bossa loaded meat pie and Guindillas in the Mist chilli pizza), plant-based options, dessert pizzas and small plates. The bar runs about 200 spirit bottles, eight permanent draught taps plus two rotating ales (Leffe, Camden, Guinness, Cruzcampo among the names at launch), cocktails, wine and tequila flights. Weekends bring singers and DJs; Sunday jazz 3–6pm was part of the opening plan; the site lists Wing Wednesday, Open Mic Thursday 8pm, weekend Bossa Beats and a quiz with 2-for-1 pizza. Pizzas were delicious & good value and atmosphere was lively. Best mention however goes to the service. Scott was managing the bar & front of house on his own & did an amazing job meeting everyone’s needs while still coming across as v. chilled. Impressive! We’ll be back.

I’d seen Bossa recommended on a local Facebook group for good pizza in the southside. Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime - the service was great and quick, food and drinks were lovely too. I’ll definitely be back, their evenings with live music look like they’d be fun. Some good pizza deals too, a different pizza is £8 each day, but even at full price it was still worth it. A 12” was very filling for 1, though we were tempted by the 18” as they looked great - but definitely to share. We got the Smokestack and the Holy Pepperoni with some drinks.

Been a few times now since Bossa opened & also ordered for delivery. My food has always been 10/10 and the drinks on offer you will not find anywhere else in the southside! Defo a wee gem of a bar!
