Best Chippy Hampden is a takeaway chippy at 55 Mount Annan Drive in Mount Florida, right next to Hampden Park. As well as fish and chips, it serves stone-baked pizzas and burgers. It says it uses only the freshest fish from local suppliers and British potatoes. In May 2023 Glasgow Live reported that it had been named best chippy in Glasgow at Scotland’s Business Awards, which are decided by public vote. Diners regularly praise the classic fish suppers and portions, pizza that’s better than you’d expect from a chippy, friendly service and the delivery. Occasional complaints mention greasy fish or inconsistent items. It’s open every day from 4pm to 11pm, though hours may differ over the festive period. Order online through its Hungrrr site for delivery (from £3) or collection; menu prices are only listed there. By public transport, Mount Florida and King’s Park stations and the Hampden bus routes (5, 6, 7, 7A, 31, 34, 90) serve the area.
When this chippy is good, it’s very good. I drive from tollcross to get it. On the odd occasion you can get the fish and they haven’t let it sit on the rail under the lights after cooking for long enough so it is extremely greasy, stop doing that and it would be the best chippy in Scotland. Read on Google MapsStarted ordering from this place a weeks ago and it has been immensely good. top quality pizzas, top quality fish, top quality everything. delivered incredibly quickly and roasting hot. btw if you're ordering from here, do it through their website rather than just eat etc, theres better deals on there, and it means more money directly back in their hands, rather than those robbers over at just eat.

Good portion sizes, chips are super tasty and I never leave any leftover - that says it all really!! 😋 Fritters, battered fish and Sausages are all very nice! Update on latest visit Unfortunately I have to dock a star - I ordered a king rib supper not too long ago and this was literally repulsive, memorable for all the wrong reasons unfortunately. I didn't have the heart to bring it back and tell them how bad it was. Never will I order a king rib from here ever again 😭😭
