Glasgow's Italian scene covers two useful jobs: wood-fired pizza and fresh pasta done at pace, and smaller rooms chasing seasonal produce with a longer wine list.

Paesano just took Scotland's Best Pizzeria at the 50 Top Pizza Europa Awards 2026, so the pizza argument is loud right now. Here is a usable shortlist for both kinds of night.

Paesano Pizza

City centre (also West End and Southside) · 94 Miller Street, G1 1DT · 4.7 from 8,193 Google reviews

Paesano Pizza restaurant interior and pizza

Neapolitan pizza with Italian ingredients, Naples-built ovens, and enough reviews to sink a ship. Visitors from the US still leave saying it beats what they get at home. Walk-in culture, industrial room, dough that has been proofed properly. West End (Great Western Road) and Shawlands branches exist if Miller Street is slammed.

Sugo Pasta

City centre (West End branch on Cresswell Lane) · 70 Mitchell Street, G1 3LX · 4.6 from 3,999 Google reviews

Fresh pasta dishes at Sugo Pasta

Sister brand to Paesano, focused on fresh pasta by the plate rather than pizza. Regional Italian sauces, open kitchen energy, and queues that grow fast on Saturday. No bookings at the original; STV covered a new West End site on Cresswell Lane opening in 2026. Expect a wait at peak times. The pasta is why people stay in line.

Celentano's

City centre (Arthouse, Bath Street) · Moved from Cathedral Square to the Arthouse, Bath Street · 4.4 from 351 Google reviews

Michelin Bib Gourmand Italian that left Cathedral House at the end of 2025 and reopened at the Arthouse. The Herald's revisit said the informal elegance and inventive pasta survived the move. Our listing may still show the old Cathedral Square address, so confirm on their channels before you go. Not a pepperoni-and-dough night. Book for the seasonal menu and wine list.

Eusebi Deli

West End (Park Road) · 152 Park Road, G4 9HB · 4.6 from 1,635 Google reviews

Long-running deli-restaurant hybrid. Prosciutto, pasta, and family celebration energy. Reviewers who discover it late still call it a Glasgow institution. Good when you want Italian food with a neighbourhood feel rather than a concept pizza room.

Nonna Said…

Merchant City · 26 Candleriggs, G1 1LD · 4.4 from 610 Google reviews

Candleriggs pizza and starters with friendly service that keeps getting named in reviews. Vegetarian and classic pizzas both get love. A few dishes divide people (smoked sausage specials come up), so stick to the pizza strengths if it is your first visit. Handy Merchant City option when Paesano's queue looks grim.
