Finnieston is where a lot of Glasgow's destination restaurants landed. Argyle Street and the streets off it put tasting menus, small plates, seafood counters, and vegan pubs within a short walk of the Hydro.
Ratings below are from our Google-fed listings. Book the small rooms. Walk-ins work better midweek.
Finnieston · 36 Kelvingrove Street, G3 7RZ · 4.7 from 236 Google reviews
One Michelin star, tasting-menu territory, and the splurge booking on this list. Reviewers talk about wine pairings, a cheese trolley worth keeping room for, and staff who can carry a birthday lunch without fuss. Open Thursday to Sunday for lunch and dinner slots. Reserve early.

Finnieston · 920 Sauchiehall Street, G3 7TF · 4.7 from 2,509 Google reviews
Michelin Bib Gourmand regular for a reason. Shareable Mediterranean plates, a 2025 refurb, and a room that still feels like a neighbourhood bistro rather than a ceremony. Recent diners call out dishes like baked beetroot and staff who keep a busy Saturday moving. Ideal when you want Finnieston cooking without Unalome prices.

Finnieston · 1066 Argyle Street, G3 8LY · 4.8 from 696 Google reviews
Small Argyle Street room with a stubbornly high score. People come back for celebrations and keep saying the food lands. Portions lean smaller than a pub plate, so order with that in mind. Good when you want a proper dinner that is not tasting-menu formal.

Finnieston · 1321 Argyle Street, G3 8AB · 4.4 from 507 Google reviews
Mediterranean shared plates with vegetable and fish dishes that CN Traveller types still recommend for a relaxed Finnieston night. Reviewers like unusual combinations that work, attentive service, and a room busy enough to feel alive without shouting. Wine list is short but on point according to recent notes.

Finnieston · 10-14 Kelvinhaugh Street, G3 8NU · 4.5 from 1,157 Google reviews
Vegan Mexican plates and craft beer in a pub format. Reviewers who do not usually eat plant-based still praise the tacos and smashed potatoes. Handy after a Hydro show if you want something casual and filling without hunting for meat.

West End (Vinicombe Street) · 26 Vinicombe Street, G12 8BE · 4.7 from 1,217 Google reviews
Technically over by the Botanics, but it sits in every Finnieston / West End eating plan. Thai-leaning sharing plates, corn ribs, fish sauce caramel chicken, and a basement room that stays loud. Michelin Guide recommended. Feasting menus help if you are a group.

Sister to the original Crabshakk on Argyle Street. Oysters, scallops, crab, and seafood platters in a sleeker room than the first site. Book ahead; the Finnieston original built its reputation on tiny tables and high demand. If our listing for the Argyle Street site is missing, start here or check Crabshakk's own site for both rooms.

Note on 1155 Argyle Street: The Gannet closed at the end of 2025. Peter McKenna and Kevin Dow reopened the site as Bistro Eleven Fifty Five in 2026, a more relaxed bistro in the same footprint. Our listing may still show the old name until listings catch up. Worth checking current booking channels if you liked The Gannet.
