Came here today with my partner to try the lunch menu. Foods lovely. Simple, home cooked style meals done very well. Soup was really good wanted another bowl😂. Staff really friendly. 3 courses each, coffee & can of coke for £14. Can’t be beaten. An amazing thing to do for the locals, very admirable. Will be back❤️

Like stepping back in time! greeted by a friendly staff, grabbing a couple pints & finding a seat at one of the little wooden tables in the Lounge, squeezed in between locals. 3 course lunch deal has been iconic for years at only 4£ (1£ more for a few other mains options) hearty home-cooking options, that were tasty! Our waitress was a legend, friendly and chatty buzzing around taking care of the whole place by herself.

I've been here many times over the past year and it's always a great experience. Usually I'm with my wife but last week I brought my brothers to try it out. I'd raved about it so much, especially the soup, that they wanted to see for themselves. It's that homemade flavour that you can't get in a tin, no matter how much you pay. This is hearty, warming, tasty soup that only my mum could have matched. The ladies in that tiny kitchen are magicians! The prices have gone up quite a bit in that time, it's now almost double, but it is still the best value of any pub in Glasgow. The staff are great as well. Andrea in particular is always a cheery soul, knows who's waiting for tables and in what order, brings out the food, clears tables, and never stops smiling. Honestly, she does the work of four people. You'll probably find yourself sitting at a table with strangers, but they won't be strangers for long. The customers here are very friendly and you’ll have a laugh while enjoying your lunch. Give it a go. You won't regret it👍

The Star Bar is a hidden local gem in Glasgow featuring comfort foods, drinks and fun staff. The lunch specials are great and even feature karaoke with a disco ball!

Lovely pub! Went today for their famous 3 course lunch for £4 (I paid an extra £1 for the fish) and it was absolutely delightful. Staff were great and the place was busy so it’s obviously very popular amongst the locals as well as people trying it out for the first time. My mum often talked about the pub and it’s lunches so I thought I’d give it a go and I was not disappointed, I’ll definitely be back again soon!
