I enjoyed lunch here today. Food is well priced and service was alright. It’s a small Chinese food shop and the food is so fresh. It’s traditionally made so I liked that it didn’t taste like the typical ‘westernized’ Chinese takeaway. Food tasted fresh. The price is really fair tbh and the staff was helpful with the menu. The menu is very limited I must say. I wanted the shrimp dumpling but it wasn’t available, went for the shiitake ones and it was great. We spent £50 pounds and this covered tea, dumplings and mains and an extra serving of dumpling. Also the portion size is amazing and we ended up not finishing our portions.

Lipsmacking Guiyang dishes packed with flavour. Homemade noodles are world class! Friendly service in a stylish venue.

I'm never comfortable leaving critical remarks about a restaurant so I'll try and be as objective as possible, rather than simply stick the boot in. There were some limitations to the menu when I went. There was only one soft drink available and a free jug of water. No big deal, but I was surprised fruit juices and other soft drinks were not on the menu. At our table for 4, 3 chairs were wobbly/close to unsafe, one was ok. We decided to just get on with it rather than ask for a different table or new chairs. The menu was close to unreadable due to the size of the print. We were told they were getting new ones. I'd do that sooner rather than later. It can't be that difficult to increase the font size when printing menus. We ordered a lot of dishes, the prices were ok, not overpriced in any way. It's possible we simply ordered dishes that were not to our taste. That can happen. Perhaps we should have ordered something different. All the dumplings appeared extremely oily, and I tried 4 different kinds. If I were to choose again I'd choose the steamed options and ignore the rest. The chicken thigh dish lacked chicken thigh pieces and again I found the broth and noodles to be a little greasy rather than rich in flavour. There are people who I really respect who say that this place is excellent and the food tasty and enjoyable. I would never try and persuade them that they're wrong. All I can say is that I didn't enjoy the food I had. Would I return? Not sure. I'd like to see a different menu...preferably printed in larger font. Edit: I do appreciate the detailed response from the restaurant.

Delicious food and just as great as when they were in their last place. The new location is larger and nicely decorated. The restaurant has about 10 tables and was busy, even in the middle of the afternoon so reservations recommended. The menu consists of mains and small plates and the portion sizes are reasonable. All dishes we tried were fantastic, lots of flavour and cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly and helpful clarifying any questions. We enjoy the visits as always and would come back to try more of the menu in the future
