Overview

The Flavour Bomb Kitchen sits on the mezzanine of Glasgow Climbing Centre, a converted church at 534 Paisley Road West. You do not need to climb: passers-by use it for brunch, lunch, coffee, and midweek evening plates under stained glass, looking down on the walls. The GCC café page and The List credit head chef Liam McAlpine with rotating brunch, sandwiches, soups, cakes, and evening menus, plus occasional five-course “FlavourBomb Project” tasting nights. Regulars talk up haggis nachos, named sandwiches, and local coffee (Faodail beans noted in one write-up). Closed Monday. Listed hours: Tuesday–Friday noon–9pm; Saturday–Sunday from 9am into late afternoon (café page says to 5pm). Phone via the centre: 0141 427 9550. Ibrox subway is a short walk along Paisley Road West.

My new favourite local brunch spot. Tasty and interesting menu which changes regularly, with loads of inventive combos. Friendly people and quick service. It’s also a great schadenfreude experience to watch people exercise while you munch on sourdough brunch stacks or pancakes. 10/10.

Can’t believe I’ve only just tried this place! Loved the haggis nachos and the burger was one of the best I’ve tasted. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu
