Overview

Thai Orchid is a long-running Thai restaurant at 336 Argyle Street in the city centre, a short walk from Glasgow Central Station. The menu covers the Thai favourites (pad thai, curries, sharing platters, seafood such as scallops and mussels) alongside less common dishes, with a clearly labelled vegetarian section and Thai beers, rice whisky and rum cocktails. Reviewers on Google, TripAdvisor and OpenTable mostly praise friendly, patient staff who will recommend dishes, and a calm, tidy dining room; typical spend reported is roughly £20-50 a head with drinks. Criticisms include small portions or toned-down spice for some, an interior that some feel needs updating, and several reports of an unpleasant drain smell, particularly near the downstairs toilets. Set lunch and evening menus are offered. It is not bookable through OpenTable, so call to reserve; it is busy on Saturday nights. Takeaway and delivery are available.

Good food but lacking a good deal of authentic spice. Reasonable amount of meat but overall the dishes were a little small. Strong price point, but expected given the location. Great desert and the Thai pancake was a real delight

My first visit to Glasgow and we found this Gem of a place on our first night. We received a lovely warm welcome from friendly staff. The restaurant had a nice ambient atmosphere. We ordered scallops & a sharing platter to start with, then pad thai & duck for main which was all really fresh and tasty 😋 Overall we had a lovely dining experience from start to finish at Thai Orchard ✨😁✨

Saturday evening in Glasgow and no restaurant reservation! Popped into Thai Orchid and lucky for us a couple were just leaving so managed to get a table. Excellent attentive service throughout, relaxing atmosphere and tasteful decor, and incredible food! Couldn't ask for anything more. We will definitively be back...and we'll book in advance next time.

Went in for the first time after a recommendation. The food was extremely fresh and well seasoned, it had a lovely gradual heat and a perfect balance of sweet, salty and spicy. The jasmine rice was perfectly sticky and fragrant, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and we left thinking about when we could next visit. If you are a lover of Asian food, please give this a try, you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous Thai cuisine. The Thai Orchid is a beautiful restaurant situated in the heart of Glasgow. The owner will make you feel very welcome. All food is just delicious cooked by Thai chefs. This is my favourite restaurant in Glasgow!
