recently tried Pepe’s Chicken and Rice again after a while, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The chicken was extremely dry and overcooked it didn’t taste fresh at all. It seemed like it had been cooked in advance, left sitting, and then reheated or reused another day. The flavour, which I used to enjoy, has definitely changed and is no longer up to the standard I remember. It’s a shame, because I was looking forward to the meal, but overall it just didn’t deliver in terms of taste or quality.

Overview
Pepe's on Sauchiehall Street is a branch of the UK Pepe's Piri Piri chain, serving flame-grilled piri piri chicken, wraps, burgers and rice boxes for eat-in, takeaway and delivery. It is a late-night option in the city centre: listings show it open from 11am into the early hours every day (commonly until 3:30am, though some listings show earlier weekday closing), so check current hours before a late visit. The chain states all its chicken is halal. The eat-in area is small, and reviews mention slow service at busy times.
Reviews
I had a very disappointing experience at pepes due to extremely poor customer service from one of the staff members. From the start, the staff member was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. They seemed irritated when we asked basic questions about the menu, and their tone made us feel very unwelcome. Read on Google MapsThe food was good and enjoyable, but the cleanliness of the restaurant left a lot to be desired. The store was quite dirty, which made the dining experience less pleasant. Additionally, the music was loud and unpleasant, making it hard to relax and enjoy the meal. With some improvements to cleanliness and atmosphere, this place could be much better.
Read on Google MapsFood was great. My favourite fast food restaurant in terms of food. All the staff members are friendly and helpful. It's just as far as vibe goes. Don't much prefer red and yellow theme but it can't be helped.
