Merchant City is the grid between High Street, Argyle Street, and the old fruit market streets. You can do pizza, South Indian, steak, and a proper Glasgow cafe breakfast without leaving a few blocks.
These are the rooms that keep coming up in reviews and bookings. Walk between them.

The Miller Street original. Neapolitan pizza, Naples ovens, walk-in queues. Scotland's Best Pizzeria at the 50 Top Pizza Europa Awards 2026. First stop for many visitors.
Fresh pasta sister to Paesano. No bookings at the original; queues grow fast on Saturday. A few minutes' walk from Miller Street if you want noodles instead of dough.

Open since 1979 with Tim Stead furniture and Scottish produce. Breakfast through dinner. Hardens still lists it as a Merchant City fixture. Good when you want something that feels like Glasgow rather than a concept.
Also nearby: Swadish and Madha for more Indian, Six by Nico on Albion Street for rotating tasting menus, Margo on Miller Street for a smaller modern room. Sebb's (basement on Miller Street) earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026; it may not be in our database yet, so check current listings if you want that one.
