We stopped at Browns in Glasgow for dessert and it was excellent! The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, and the service was friendly and attentive. Our desserts were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious — a perfect sweet ending to our night. Highly recommend!

Overview
Browns Glasgow sits in the Grade A listed former General Post Office on George Square — a big, all-day Mitchells & Butlers brasserie that opened around 2012 (Daily Record called it newly opened that July). After another full remodel it reopened in March 2026 with a redesigned statement bar, lounge seating and the baby grand piano still in place (Glasgow Live; Hospitality & Catering News). The offer is classic British brasserie: breakfast through dinner, Sunday roast with Yorkshire puddings, cocktails and Champagne, plus afternoon tea daily (classic £25; Champagne from £35). Dedicated gluten-free menus are Coeliac UK accredited, including gluten-free afternoon tea if you request it when booking. Friday nights have live music from 7pm with a seasonal set menu. Book online for tables; private dining takes up to 60 seated (about 75–80 standing) with its own bar. Dress code is smart casual — no sportswear. Queen Street station is roughly a three-minute walk across the square.
