Benson's Café on Ballochmill Road is the Rutherglen café of Benson's, a family-owned and family-run business founded in Parkhead in 1986 that now has six cafés. It serves traditional, home-cooked food, with proper breakfasts served all day and lunchtime favourites such as macaroni cheese and chips, homemade chips with stew gravy, and lentil soup. The stew, stew gravy, soups and cheese sauce are made in-house, and the square sausage and burgers use meats from the Glasgow butchers Lennons and Rodgers. There is also a kids' menu. It is open Monday to Saturday 7am-3:30pm and Sunday 8am-3pm. Benson's is first and foremost a walk-in cafe, so no booking is required, but it takes reservations for parties of six or more by phone on 0141 647 5032. A takeaway menu is available for collection and delivery.
Horrible food. Too much salt on the food even though I never asked for salt. Sausages were undercooked, the bacon dry, hash browns no taste black pudding too salty and undercooked, beans bland, eggs undercooked, they forgot my mushrooms considering I paid for them. Overall horrible, inedible and cold. I hope I don’t get food poisoning. The chicken wrap wasn’t better. Never order from here. This cost me £16.53 not worth it at all

Read on Google MapsJust got chips and stew gravy the stew was non existent and a measly portion. I got the same from the forge cafe and they know how to serve customers a good portion. So unhappy with this. They are cheap either to be served that insufficient portion

Read on Google MapsReally disappointed with the food I have received, the Mac and cheese was absolutely disgusting couldn’t even eat it, the wrap wasn’t even toasted just soggy, also ordered a club sandwich and got chicken with salad on toast, the only thing that was actually correct and eatable was the soup and chips with stewed gravy
