What People Are Saying

Wunderbar has established itself as a popular entertainment venue in Glasgow, known for its vibrant atmosphere, live music, and unique indoor beer garden setting. The bar has become a favorite destination for many regular visitors who appreciate its consistent entertainment offerings and lively ambiance.

The venue's atmosphere is consistently praised by reviewers, with many describing it as having a great vibe and being their favorite place to visit in Glasgow. The bar features a distinctive beer garden that feels like it's inside, creating a unique and comfortable environment that sets it apart from other venues in the city. This indoor-outdoor feel contributes to the venue's appeal and creates an inviting space for socializing and entertainment.

Live music is one of Wunderbar's standout features, with the venue offering good live music every night of the week. The establishment successfully balances different musical styles, offering a mix of live performances and DJ sets that suit all generations. This variety in entertainment has made it a popular destination for weekend nights, with visitors returning on both Friday and Saturday evenings to enjoy the different musical offerings. The consistent quality of the entertainment has earned the venue a loyal following among music enthusiasts.

The bar's cocktail offerings have received positive feedback, particularly during special events like cocktail festivals, where the drinks are described as great. The venue's ability to participate in and excel during such events demonstrates its commitment to providing quality beverage options beyond the standard bar fare.

However, some reviewers have raised concerns about the venue's security staff and door policies. Issues mentioned include inconsistent entry policies, with some guests reporting that bouncers were selective about who to admit, even after stated last entry times. More seriously, there have been reports of unprofessional and rude behavior from security staff, including one incident described as racist. These concerns have been particularly disappointing to regular visitors who have otherwise enjoyed their experiences at the venue. It's worth noting that one reviewer who reported such an incident also mentioned they had been a weekly visitor who had always enjoyed the place previously, suggesting these may be isolated incidents rather than a consistent pattern, though they are serious enough to warrant attention.

Service at the bar can be slow during peak times, particularly when the venue is rammed with customers. However, reviewers generally understand this is a consequence of the venue's popularity rather than a fundamental service issue. The busy nature of the venue, especially on weekend nights, is actually seen by many as a positive indicator of its popularity and appeal.

For those seeking a vibrant nightlife experience with consistent live music, great atmosphere, and a unique setting, Wunderbar offers an appealing option in Glasgow's entertainment scene. The venue's ability to maintain its popularity and provide regular entertainment has made it a go-to destination for many. However, potential visitors should be aware that the venue can get very busy, which may affect service speed, and there have been some concerns raised about door staff behavior that the venue would benefit from addressing to ensure all guests have positive experiences.

We really liked this bar, it has a beer garden that feels like it was inside & they had live music on. Cocktails as part of the cocktail festival were great too.

Very Poor I am a student and I come to this beautiful place every week. I always enjoy my time here and have never had any problems before. Unfortunately, today I experienced a racist incident from one of the security staff, and his behaviour was very rude and unprofessional. I am very disappointed because this kind of behaviour does not reflect the good image of this place that I have always appreciated. I hope appropriate action will be taken to ensure this does not happen to anyone else.

Visited on both Friday and Saturday nights. Great nights and a mix of live and DJ music suiting all generations. Bar service was slow but the place was rammed so I wouldn't hold that against them. Will be back next visit to Glasgow
