Overview

The Raven is a Renfield Street sports bar and kitchen that opened in June 2014 in the old Bay Horse site, built by Maclay Inns and now run by Signature Pub Group (SLTN; CAMRA). It sells itself as a matchday hub: big screens, Premier League, Glasgow Warriors away-match hosting, craft and cask beer, cocktails, and electric darts upstairs. Food is casual American-leaning bar fare — smash burgers, Detroit-style pizza, wings, hot dogs, loaded fries and sharing platters — aimed at groups and game days rather than a quiet dinner. CAMRA notes BBQ-style food through the day, Scottish real ales, and that music can get loud on busy nights. Book online for food or drinks; walk-ins welcome. Under-18s until 9pm; dogs allowed. Groups of eight or more should contact the bar. The Nest upstairs is private hire from 20 people (up to 35, or about 45 with the adjoining darts oche). Buchanan Street subway and Queen Street are a short walk.

Came for a hen party for our F1 mad bride to be. I contacted the venue ahead of time to ask if they could put the F1 on for us and they couldn’t be more friendly in the correspondence. When we arrived, we were placed in front of the biggest screens to maximise our viewing and they let us put some small decor up. Our server offered to take group photos and we were never without a drink. Defo recommend the boozy slushies. Food was yummy although large portions! We felt well looked after from initial contacting to leaving and would defo be back. Highly recommend for sporty stag/hen parties.

Popped in for a bite and a pint and was impressed. The bar staff and chef were some of the friendliest and most thoughtful I’ve encountered—welcoming, attentive, and incredibly accommodating of gluten-free needs (they have gluten-free buns!). The atmosphere was inviting with great vibes all around.

Very expensive beer. Good range, though. Staff were engaging. Enjoyed the darts. Toilet door broken. Reasonable atmosphere for a Friday night. Previously visited where the food was good. TV's are throughout the premises showing sporting events.
