Overview

Rowan’s Deli on Cumbernauld Road in Riddrie is a third-generation family deli and café serving Glasgow’s east end since 1985. Owners Melanie and Garry Tibbitt opened this branch in 2012 after years at Budhill Avenue; there are further shops in Budhill and Baillieston (Buchanan Street). The draw is made-to-order filled rolls and slow-cooked meats rather than a sit-down dinner menu. Staff and regulars point to shredded gammon as the signature; delivery menus list it from around £4, with other cold fillings from roughly £2.50. Expect breakfast and lunch trade — rolls, soup, burgers, baked potatoes, salads — then a mid-afternoon close. In reader voting for the Glasgow Times Best Takeaway, Rowan’s made the top-ten shortlist (Levant in Drumchapel took the win). It’s a walk-in, takeaway-led spot: no booking needed, and buses on Cumbernauld Road (including the 8/38 family) are the practical way in — Glasgow Subway doesn’t reach Riddrie.

Shocking!!! I paid £2.15 for a roll and square sausage with onion, and the sausage was about 3mm thick. Won't be back that's for sure. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
