Reviews
Tucked away in the heart of Glasgow, Margo delivers a dining experience that feels both sophisticated and effortlessly warm. From the moment I walked in, the service stood out - friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. I started with the chipsticks with red pepper and seaweed, a clever snack that set the tone with its perfect crunch and subtle umami lift. The cured chalkstream trout was beautifully balanced - the tang of tiger milk and salted plum danced with the freshness of shiso, creating layers of flavour that felt bright and modern. The skate wing, served with kumquat kosho, trout roe, and green peppercorns, was the highlight - delicate, silky fish paired with zesty and peppery notes that brought real depth. Even the grilled sprouting broccoli impressed, with romesco and smoked almonds turning a simple side into something addictive. Every plate was precise yet full of character - a reflection of a kitchen that knows its craft. Margo is the kind of place where fine dining meets genuine warmth. Unfortunately I didn’t have room for desserts, but chamomile panna cotta sounds really mouth watering. — and I’ll definitely be back.
Read on Google MapsHad a wonderful afternoon at Margo. The food and service were lovely, and the team made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The environment was wonderfully chilled—perfect for a relaxed dining experience without feeling rushed. Highly impressed all around, and I can’t wait to be back to try more from the menu.
Read on Google MapsFrom start to finish our experience was fantastic. Excellent attentive and knowledgeable staff. Every dish we had was fabulous. Our friend from Spain who joined us was suitably impressed as well. Will definitely be back.
Read on Google MapsThis place is definitely a must-visit in Glasgow. The atmosphere is great and the service was on top. The food was really tasty. I loved the menu concept — you can build your own perfect tasting experience. Some of the dishes had amazing, bold flavours that really stood out. The rest were just very good and well made. We were already full, but decided to try dessert anyway — and we didn’t regret it! A perfect balance of flavours, with just the right touch of sweetness and acidity. Big thanks to the chef and the whole team.
Read on Google MapsFirst of the architectural design of the restaurant is immaculent. Combination of 70-80s and industrial theme. Food wise try the crab, potatoes, the fish of the day , pork belly, lamb and for desert the chocolate. Cocktails were also worth trying. Light and refreshing. We tried the hazelnut strawberry and the berries vodka one. Prices were decent. Service was fast. Would visit again.
