Overview

Ardnamurchan on Hope Street – where Scottish produce gets the spotlight it absolutely deserves, because this restaurant is all about celebrating what Scotland does best. With a stellar 4.6 rating, they're not messing around – they're bringing authentic Highland and island flavours right to the heart of Glasgow. The name comes from the Gaelic 'Àird nam Murchan', meaning 'headland of the great seas', and they take that whole wild, rugged, unspoiled Scottish wilderness thing very seriously. Their venison comes directly from the Ardnamurchan Estate where deer roam free, their fish and shellfish are caught fresh from the sea off the West Coast of Scotland, and their beef comes from the lush Speyside region (renowned for producing some of the best beef in the world, in case you were wondering). They're open Sunday 10am-midnight, Monday-Thursday noon-midnight, Friday-Saturday 10am-midnight, serving last tables between 9-10pm depending on the day. They've got a market menu available Monday-Saturday noon-6pm and Sunday noon-6pm, plus a la carte available all day every single day. And here's the kicker – they're dog-friendly with limited bookable tables available on request. Because even your four-legged friend deserves Scottish produce. Located at 325 Hope Street, they're sourcing unique and artisan products from the Highlands and Islands because quality matters. They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, including whisky (obviously), and they're even dog-friendly. This is proper Scottish dining done right – slàinte mhath!

We had dinner here and it was excellent. All the food was very tasty and the portions were right. The prices were alright and it was great to see they don't include automatic service charges like many other greedy places around, so of course left a well deserved tip. It can get quite full, so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend having dinner here if you want some great Scottish food.

I just wanted soup for dinner and they had an amazing tomato, lentil, and thyme soup of the day that was perfect. My husband opted for the two course meal selection and had a wonderful terrine starter and a seriously delicious venison stew. Service was good and the place is very nice inside. That stew makes me want to go back!

Very good experience overall. We had the Sunday Market menu, which is a decent deal for the price and there's a good selection too. The food is superb. Starters were a bit small but very well presented and tasty. Mains and desserts were good portions. Staff were all very friendly and smiling all the time. On a Sunday evening, it was relatively quiet. Place is spacious and has a nice atmosphere. Overall, top food at fair price in the city centre.

Fantastic restaurant! Had the best oysters, haggis and seafood stew, all made with Scottish high quality produce. The desserts were also incredible. All staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. I would definitely recommend it and can't wait to return!

We had a really wonderful time at Ardnamurchan. We arrived in Glasgow on a cold, rainy day. The local restaurants were already booked for dinner. We wandered around trying to find a place that would take us for dinner after our long journey. The host person at Ardnamurchan said they were fully reserved for the evening, but found a little spot for us out of kindness. We both ordered the Cullen Skink, it was the first of several we had over the course of our travels through Scotland, and it was the best… no competition. We had a few other dishes as well, everything was delicious and well prepared. The desserts were also phenomenal. I will be traveling back to Glasgow again in the future and Ardnamurchan is at the top of my list of best places to dine in Glasgow!
