Ann's Fry is a long-running Gorbals fish-and-chips takeaway at 196 Crown Street. The shop's own site says it has served the area since 1945. Expect classic chip-shop fare first: haddock fish, chips, sausage, pies, and pizza crunch, with pizzas, burgers, Turkish doner, pastas, and kids' meals on the same menu. It is takeaway and delivery only. Order online via the Mealzo-powered site or app, or call 0141 429 0681. The website lists opening as 3pm–10pm, seven days a week, and often runs a 15% off deal on online orders over £25. Collection is typically quoted around 20 minutes; delivery around 50 minutes when available. Bridge Street subway is roughly a 10-minute walk. A TripAdvisor diner noted it is handy for the nearby Premier Inn and that the counter takes cash or Apple/Google Pay.
The fish was super crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, just how it should be. Not greasy at all, and the flavor was spot on. The chips were chunky, crispy, and perfectly cooked. Danny & Alana were so nice and friendly. Would 100% get it again!

Read on Google MapsI ordered a small fish and chips for £9. Minuscule would be the correct term for the fish ie an extremely small portion dwarfed by the chips. I had to have something to eat when I got home! I will not be back nor would I recommend. They are taking advantage of a lack competition in this disadvantaged area (as do some of the other surrounding shops).
