Overview

Mesa is a brunch café at 567 Duke Street in Dennistoun. In April 2019, Glasgow Live reported that it had opened that February as a sister café to Cafe Strange Brew on the Southside. The paper described its menu as "Hearty brunches in a masterful fusion of Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern cuisine", with dishes such as egg skillets and pancake stacks. It added that "vegan and gluten-free options are available" among the cakes and bakes. Glasgow Live called the café "small and cosy", with room for "around 15-20 people". SquareMeal says Mesa "is open for walk-ins only", that reservations are not required, and that dogs are welcome. It lists opening hours as 09:00–15:30 every day except Saturday, when it opens 09:00–16:00. According to the Glasgow Times, the menu covers morning rolls, sandwiches, pancakes, soup of the day and "stuff on or with sourdough", plus a couple of specials. The paper also noted that the Mesa name is painted on the side of the building on Armadale Street, not above the door.

Popped in for lunch and had the most delicious sandwiches ever!! I had the halloumi and my friend got the chicken and bacon- was genuinely the best sandwiches I’ve ever had so so good. Really big portions too. We had some coffees which were really nice too and staff were friendly. Soup tasted of nothing but everything else more than made up for it. Will be back!! Edit: Came back from brunch and tried the pancakes which were absolutely unreal, so delicious and such a massive portion! Very rarely get pancakes so fluffy and the toppings were great.

Absolutely class! Food was amazing. Cooked to perfection and great flavour combo. The coffee was brilliant too.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars instead of just five! The food was outstanding, and I absolutely fell in love with their pancakes—they’re simply divine. I spent a leisurely two hours there, savoring the delicious food and reading a book. While the coffee wasn't quite to my taste, everything else was fantastic—the food, the ambiance, and the service were all top-notch. Highly recommended!

Came here for a late lunch with our dog. The staff was friendly and brought out a doggy waterbowl. Coffee was great and we had a special that was on that day. Small dish but was packed full of flavour. Also shared a massive yumyum. Highly recommend. Devine little place to visit.

Cool little space, amazing food, good coffee, good background tunes, good service. Poached pear pancakes were mint. Will be back.
