Overview

Lee Palace is a Peking and Cantonese Chinese takeaway on Main Street in Rutherglen, offering collection and home delivery to the town and surrounding areas. Order online via the official site, or phone 0141 613 1143 (or 0141 647 1730 for special requests and dietary needs). It is closed on Mondays and open Tuesday to Sunday from 4pm to 11pm. The menu is a long traditional Scottish-Chinese list: soups and starters (deep-fried won ton, satay skewers, salt and chilli chicken), curries, sweet and sour Hong Kong style, Szechuan and Kung Po dishes, roast duck, thick or thin chow mein, and a dedicated vegetarian section. Typical mains sit around £7–£9; a curry meal deal (soup plus main with rice or chips and free prawn crackers) is £11.90 on the website menu. Google rates it about 3.9 from roughly 240 reviews. Regulars often praise portions and value; others report uneven quality, slow or cold deliveries, and mixed service — including allergy handling, so call ahead if that matters. The site presents the business as takeaway-only; older reviews mention dine-in and set lunches, and a 2025 Google review wished they would reopen for sit-in meals. Rutherglen railway station (Argyle Line) is a short walk along Main Street, and several bus routes serve the Main Street corridor.

Ordered a chicken fried last night and it was delish. Love the inclusion of ham and peas as well which is quite unique but goes really well. Staff are great and came outside the restaurant to hand it to me whilst I was taking a phonecall, much appreciated customer care. This restaurant is a bit of a rutherglen institution, I'd love to see them open again for sit in meals.

Used for years never again advised staff of allergies repeated this numerous times. Meals were obviously not checked. Called to resolve and dealt with despicably. Worst customer care ever. Has rapidly gone downhill in the past few months. Avoid if you have any allergies.

It’s really not appreciated that whoever your spam poster is feels they can just leave a pile of menus on the stairs of my flat block, which are in no way free from wind. As if the area isn’t bad enough with litter, tell your employees not to contribute!

I’m so shocked to say the least, Iv been a fan of this place for as long as I can remember. Ordered food tonight and it all went into the bin. I tried to call them and it went straight to an answer phone. I hadn’t ordered food out here for a while but tonight’s food was disgusting. A simple chow main & chicken curry, £24.90 into the bin. Lee palace get your act together you have drastically went down hill. Absolutely shocking. Never again will I order anything.
